    Nutritional Calculations are Wrong

    Written by SJ from Tampa

    Oct 8, 2009

After I input my first recipe, I noticed the calories were way off. I input a few more recipes and again the calories were wrong. It took me several hours of experimentation to figure out the problem had to do with dry ingredients vs. cooked ingredients. The only way I could get the calories to come out correctly is by inputting them in grams. I also had a terrible time if I wanted to use an ingredient that wasn't in MacGourmet's database. You can input unrecognized ingredients and their nutritional info, but then the program couldn't understand how to calculate these in a recipe, so it gave them a nutritional value of zero. After three days of reading the manual and tweaking measurements, I still couldn't figure out how to get the calories to come out correctly for any of my recipes. I wanted this program specifically for the nutritional calculator, but since I can't get it to work, I'm sending this program back. More

The application does exactly what it says on the box but has sometimes been a bit cumbersome to use. Nevertheless, I haven't regretted my purchase! More
