Sanyo Xacti VPC-E2 Waterproof Digital Camcorder (Blue)
Capture stunning digital video and 8 megapixel photos on land and underwater with the waterproof Sanyo Xacti E2.
Learn moreOverview
Practically four cameras in one, the Xacti E2 allows you to shoot both photos and video at a park, birthday party, or virtually anywhere else on dry land. And, when the opportunity presents itself, also shoot both photos and video while snorkeling or while just playing around in a swimming pool. This powerful little camcorder easily records both full 640x480 resolution video at 60 frames-per-second and high-resolution 8-megapixel digital still images, all of which are handily stored to a standard SD or SDHC flash memory card (sold separately).
Designed to IPX8 international standard for waterproof, the Xacti E2 is capable of recording full-motion video five feet underwater for up to 30 minutes. Incorporating a watertight design that can resist the pressure created when submersed at five feet, the Xacti E2 can capture dramatic photos and video footage underwater to share with the less adventurous family members and friends. The E2 incorporates highly advanced AVC/H.264 video compression, which makes posting movies on the Internet or e-mailing them to friends and family easier by reducing the file size. In fact, the file size can be up to 25 percent smaller than that of typical MPEG-4 cameras. A large, 2.5-inch Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) flips out from the camera and rotates up to 285 degrees on an axis that allows you to take great video or still images from otherwise-difficult-to-view positions, proving to be especially useful when shooting underwater or in small rooms.
And you can import the Xacti E2’s MPEG-4 files directly into iTunes and then easily transfer them to your iPod.

Great Product

I'm not a professional but I love this camcorder. I love the small size and the picture quality. I had one frustrating problem originally, that I thought I would mention, in case it saves somebody confusion. I initially thought the unit was broken because it wasn't recording still pictures onto the memory card. The problem turned out to be the fact that I wasn't pushing the photo button hard enough. It appeared to focus and take a picture but would not store it. I finally figured out I just needed to press the button harder. The pictures are great as well as the videos, all in a small waterproof package. Very nice. …More

What a handy treat!

I am on vacation right now in Maui and am so glad I picked this camera up. I already own a Sony HD camcorder, but I wanted something that was small, handy and was really attracted to the concept of it being waterproof. So my sons and I go swimming, and I can catch it on film. Tomorrow I go snorkeling and will catch it on film. It downloads easy, it is really easy to use, it is a great toy! I am so glad I bought it. You will get shots you normally will not get. …More

Awesome little Camera!

I love this camera! Just got back from Mexican cruise, took it on the peddle boats (water too cold to swim in :) ) got some great footage just by hanging it into the water as we peddled around. It is also a great digital camera 8.1 Megapixel which is better than the actual camera we've had for years. Zoom works well, but as with most digital zoom's using a tripod would be your best bet. I've taken this this to the water park too down all the slides, and water coaster! Have had no issues with it at all! The only thing is... you may want to pick up an extra battery cause you'll be having so much fun with it you'll need to change the battery about every 6 hours of intermittent usage. I've found that the replacement batteries you get from Amazon are better than the original that comes with it! Get one of these little toys! You won't regret it! And don't forget a 4Gb memory card as well! You could get a bigger one, but no need! The compression is fantastic! …More
