Altec Lansing Expressionist Bass FX3022 Speakers
Rich warm sound
Written by JE from Honolulu

The these speakers are far better than what I was expecting. I particularly like that the sound is rich and warm and doesn't have the harshness typical of speakers nowadays. The sound is clean and distortion free across the entire range. Because the bass is sitting up on the desktop I can crank the sound and not have to worry about the neighbors. But even on the desktop the bass still sounds strong, not wimpy. I'm glad I took a chance on buying these. …More

I got these on sale (good bargain!), but after using them, they are completely worth more than $130!!! They are simply amazing. The bass is phenomenal, and the speakers look beautiful. As they get louder, they get better. You just can't go wrong with these! I listen to everything from techno, electronic, acoustic, pop, classical...everything sounds ridiculously good. …More

Altec Lansing Expressionist Bass FX3022 Speakers
Wow!

Totally impressed by these speakers and had to write a review! We actually got them on sale--well worth the price! It was between these and the M-Audio Studiophile (because of the great reviews M-Audios got and no reviews of these Altecs). The sound is deep, rich, and you can crank it up. These speakers function great in our livingroom, and in our loft-like apartment the sound carries great and the speakers look pretty slick next to the flatscreen TV! Looking for cable to connect to the TV--anyone have suggestions? …More

can you spell perfect?
Written by AW from Toronto

i love these speakers, got them when my Sound Sticks II broke down from dust falling in the upward facing sub.
thats what caught my eye on these bad boys, the sub in facing down, so dust would be a problem. then i turn them on and WOW, they sound just as good (if not better) then speakers almost twice the price.
longevity is always the question, and as of yet don't have a definite answer. i can tell you that as of now they have lasted 3 months longer the the horrible Sound Sticks II, and they show no signs of breaking down yet. Highly recommend these bad boys! …More8 of 8 people found this useful

Altec Lansing Expressionist Bass FX3022 Speakers
Very Rich in BASS!
Written by GL from Land O Lakes

The speakers performs as it is specified. Very rich in bass. It is connected to my iMac and looks great in my desk. Brought up iTunes and played all kinds of music from classical to jazz to pop/rock and to just talk audio. It did not disappoint on any but it performed much better in music that required heavy bass like pop and rock. Sometimes the bass can be overpowering that it eats up the mid and the highs coming from from the full-range drivers at the top. You will appreciate the sound coming out from the drivers if both are facing you (not hidden in back of the iMac like I have) for much clear sounds. I just need to clear my desk space and bring it out more to the sides. I am very satisfied with the speakers. Now, I can just sit back and enjoy the music. …More
