Overview

The PIXMA MP620 changes all the rules about where and how you can print. Print wirelessly from anywhere in the house via WiFi. Or network the MP620 via Ethernet cable and print from a wired computer in another room. Or go computer-free and print photos directly from memory cards, previewing and enhancing images on the 2.5-inch TFT display. You can even print from a compatible digital camera or camera phone or other Bluetooth device via the optional BU-30 Bluetooth interface (sold separately).*

And the MP620 delivers outstanding results. This powerhouse All-In-One produces long-lasting 4 x 6-inch photos with spectacular 9600 x 2400 color dpi resolution in about 41 seconds,** and its new five-color ink system ensures vivid, true-to-life colors and bold, black text. Copies of documents will be more faithful to your originals, and your scans will yield superb 2400 x 4800 color dpi results.

  • Self-operating paper output tray automatically opens when printing or copying.

Does Not Work With Airport Express

    Written by BR from Edmonton

    Nov 12, 2008

So I purchased the printer 'cause my last Canon lasted 5 years until the printer head went kaput (loyal to the brand). I liked the wireless printing and scanning offered with this printer (I am a grad student and so I necessarily need the scanning device at this moment). I brought it home, and the first thing that I noticed was the software cd for my Macbook didn't load, no problem I say, go to the website and download the drivers I say. The website is very ambiguous, and let's just say I downloaded all of them that had "mac" in their file name. I then hooked up the printer via USB to my Airport Express, and fine, I could find the printer and print off the stuff I needed. Then I wanted to use the wireless scanning feature. After becoming confused due to reading the instructions, I sat on it for awhile, but now I'm tired of hooking up a usb line everytime I need to scan and so I called Canon to see what was wrong. Right off the bat he asked if I had Airport Express, I said yes, and he said that to use the wireless function you have to use an ETHERNET connection, and the Airport Express doesn't have one available to use (you have to use Airport Extreme, perhaps Time Capsule if you could afford it). Sadly, I conceded and hung up after thanking the man for what seemed like the most straightforward answer I ever got from Canon or Mac. I love this printer, but I won't take it back, but the requirement of an "ethernet" connection to use the wireless scanning should be made conspicuous. More

    Great printer!

Written by EV from Rio Rancho

I was skeptical when I read how difficult wireless setup could be with this printer, but purchased it anyway, based on the specifications that it should print great photos. I found that the wireless setup was relatively easy, and the photos are phenomenal. I'm glad I purchased this printer, despite my skepticism. I highly recommend the Canon PIXMA MP620. More

This printer is great...with one exception

Written by MC from Chapel Hill

Wireless setup is a breeze - if you follow Canon's well documented instructions, it should take no longer than 10 minutes to setup. Printing is fast, accurate, and quiet, however, there is one problem. IT DOES NOT PRINT DOUBLE SIDED! The specifications are misleading by saying, "Two-way", however that only denotes the two different paper feeders. Full duplex printing is not an option with this printer. Although this isn't a dealbreaker for a $50 (AR) printer, it's still disappointing. More

    GREAT PRINTER

Written by AS from Vineyard Haven

    Dec 13, 2009

Great printer, especially for printing photos, they come out beautifully! The scanner works great to. The wireless feature took a few minutes and was a little tricky but I just followed the directions and managed to get it all set up and it is WONDERFUL to be able to wirelessly print. The only downside is the ink doesn't last as long as my old printer, but this could be because I have printed a lot of photos...

Overall great printer, especially for printing photos

Perfect, other than a little ink thirsty

Written by MB from Prince George

    Dec 13, 2009

Printer is great, it is nice to be able to print from anywhere in (and a short ways outside) the house. I have multiple computers that print wirelessly with it, and the scanner also works with all the computers (both PC and Mac). Some people were saying the scanning wasn't working unless you were hooked up via USB, but I have encountered no such issues. Set up is not as simple as a normal printer, but this is obviously not a normal printer. Instructions are very clear, and if you read the instructions properly (including the little notes at the bottom of each page pertaining to what you are doing) then set up should be a breeze. Only negative I can think of is that it seems to be a little thirsty for black ink, but I have no frame of comparison either, because I haven't had a home printer for a very long time. Great printer, highly recommend it. More

    Difficult Setup, Not Mac Friendly

Written by JA from Los Altos

    Nov 28, 2009

The quality of the print and scan outputs is excellent. However, the initial setup for a wireless network was difficult (iMac, OS 10.5, Airport Extreme), and the wireless scan feature never did work. After 10 months, the upgrade to OS 10.6.2 lost connection with the printer, and even after downloading the current drivers and researching the Mac forums for several hours, I could not get the printer communicating again. We should expect products in the Apple "constellation" to work together easily, but this printer does not live up to that standard.

I replaced it with another brand, which set up flawlessly with all the features working, including wireless scanning.

PIXMA MP620 absolutely works with Snow Leopard. I needed to download three driver and then go on a little hunt for its signal to set it up as default.

I did all this in less than 15 minutes by calling the technical support number I found on the Canon website.

The Canon MP620 allows you to scan wirelessly! I comes with a TWAIN compliant scanning utility. Quite honestly, the way this thing works is pretty cool. When you add the printer in "System Preferences", you will get to add devices: a Canon scanner, and a Canon printer.

To scan wirelessly, just place the document on the scanner and go the the Canon scan utility.

Yes it does in fact work with 10.6.1. Install the drivers from Canon's website. Add the printer using the default category (Bonjour finds it). You're done. More
