Finally I can charge my iPhone 3G in my car!!

This works perfectly with an Alpine head unit and KCA-420i iPod Adapter. Before this my iPhone 3g would only play music. Now it charges and plays music. When a call comes in the music fades out so you can answer and when you are done the music fades back in. Works exactly as advertised. More

I really didn't want to buy a new docking station/speaker system for my Nano 4g. Now, I don't have to. It's great to listen & charge at the same time again.

Do note that your iPod will stand about an inch taller in the dock. Also, that you can't use a dock adapter with the passPort, it's thicker than any that I have.

    Scosche passPORT is Awesome

Since the new iPhone 3G charges via USB, most of my older items would not charge my new iPhone. The passPORT solves those issues, allowing me to charge my phone with my old(er) plugs, etc. More

    Did Not Work

BMW USB & audio cable in console worked fine with older iPhone, but won't charge with 3G iPhone. This adapter did not fix the charging problem, and it does not firmly attach to the iPhone. Need to get new accessory cable for $65. More

    iPhone 3gs? YES

    Written by MO from NORFOLK

I installed an iPod adapter through my stock Volkswagen stereo that charged my iPod and allowed me to play and control music from the radio controls. This is wired into the back of the stereo where the cd changer would go.

I bought an iPhone 3gs and did not realize the charging system was different. I was still able to play music in the car but not charge the phone at the same time. The adapter I installed cost me about $135 so I really didn't want to change that out. This $20 adapter has solved that problem. My iPhone will still tell me this charging device is not supported, but it does restore my lost charging capability.

The only thing I don't like is that it extends about an inch and a half from the dock connector on the iPhone. Not a big deal, I can charge my iPhone without the hassle and cost I thought it would be.

It Works! But with a catch......

Written by OA from VAN NUYS

I just bought a 2008 Mercedes GL450, and it had the factory iPod intergration kit that would allow me to hear music with my iPhone 3GS, but it would not charge my phone when plugged in.

Well the passPORT fixed that issue! I am now able to hear music, and charge the iphone 3GS at the same time, but I still get the nagging messege "this accessory was not designed to work with the iPhone, would you like to put the phone in airplane mode?" I just click "NO" and it works just fine but I get that messege each time I plug the iPhone 3GS in. Not a big deal, I mean it did fix the charging issue, but I wish they would find a way to make that msg go away.

And for those saying that they fear the passPORT will fall out of the iPone/iPod, and that it doesnt have teeth to grab into the port, you are either blind or the port in your iPhone/iPod is oversized, this thing snaps right into my iPhone and stays there! Even with the Griffin Elan Form case on!
