Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro
Comparable to built-in iSight
Written by RH from Naples

The quality is right on with other Logitech products that you know and love. The image quality I wouldn't say is HD, but I would say that it is comparable to the built-in iSight Camera on the Macs. My only complaint is that I wish the mounting bracket was more of a fit for my 23" Cinema Display. The microphone is perfect for iChat, iMovie and Garageband! …More

Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro
Very happy with this product...plan to buy another.
Written by CS from Fairfield

I use this on a Mac Mini hooked up to a flat screen SONY. The living room background, allows people sitting a bit farther away--more natural than the camera in your face look.
The video quality is good, better than any other video webcam I've used, but not great--of course high definition video would take up a lot of band width wouldn't it?
I don't see any of the artifacts mentioned by the other reviewer. …More107 of 126 people found this useful

Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro
Does not live up to its price tag
Written by AS from Vancouver

I am very disappointed with this camera. I use it with my Intel Mac Mini.
It has frequent black flashes. And often the image is at its darkest setting (you can see almost nothing) for no reason. Especially in Skype. The only thing that helps is unplug it, and plug it in again. This will bring back the brightness to normal.
Also the autofocus works poorly. It will frequently focus on the background, not on the foreground.
I payed 149+tax in Canadian dollar for this poor camera. I wanted the rolls royce of the webcams, but ended up with the lame duck. I am thinking of shipping it back to apple.

Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro
this is truely a great camera add on even with isight
Written by GL from southampton

i have had nothing but superior success on intel and ppc, ibooks, i am almost completely computer illiterate, and this , along with quicktime pro (spend the 30 or less, dollars, you are getting a program worth hundreds or priceless.
also, i ama complete computer illiterate, with quickcam, i come out looking like a pro,
also, good with isight, because, you can move quickcam around, and have access to extreme quality video /audio recording source, that is moveable, if you are expecting , a top of the line movie camera, it is close if measured to size, i paid 129.99 a few yearsago, so price is great,
as for those upset, if a 99.99 camera, works better , than over 2 dozen webcams, i tried for mac and windows (best yet), is not a sgood as a $3000 camcorder, i am upset there is not peace in earth, but unless indiividual unit has an issue, this is the best web camera, external device in general, for the money, even for 500, tis woud be a great camera.
mac illitertae, windows and linux too, but with qt pro, again at an insanely fair price,
this is a extremely easy webcam to master, and the quality in my stubborn opinion,
which is not know for cutting a product a break, this camera is a must buy,,,,
good luck, and again, if you are a decint computer literate person, andthe camera , is having issues, and it is definately not your computer, call tech support, sooner,m then later, it is just, too simple to use, and the product is quality,
also as an after thought, make sure you change, camer, and internal recording in prefernces, (computer, and quicktime, to the new logitech, when in use)
honestly, i would be shocked if you were truely unhappy, or had issues with aworking unit, (not suggesting units have problems, i am happily 2 for 2, and through recomendations,m 5 for 5, and no, i do not get a commision... …More2 of 8 people found this useful

Warning! Do Not Buy
Written by RB from Gatineau

Warning. This Webcam will not work if you are running Snow Leopard. Logitech has no answer as to when they will fix the problem. The symptom is it blacks out frequently or it fails completely. I'm using the iMac i7. Recommend finding another Webcam manufacturer until this problem is resolved. I gave it one star because it looks pretty. …More

Total Junk with no support
Written by KW from romeoville

This was a waste of money. Plug-n-play only. NO software or user adjustable settings for color, contrast, brightness, zoom, focus at all. ZERO logitech support and stated it will work with minimal auto settings. They have no plan to provide software support for it. Video is way to dark to use even in a bright lit room. Was told to unplug and replug it in. same result! No apple support, no OSX support, now we expected this from microsoft but apple? I even returned first one as defective. second one had the same problem. It has to be Save your money on this one …More

Does the Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro webcam forMac work with Snow Leopard 10.6.1?
- Asked by PR from RIPON
- Oct 3, 2009
Best Answer
This camera does not work properly with Snow Leopard. Picture is way too dark, and there is no adjustment, as all is taken care of within the camera via firmware. Sometimes you can get it to work by unplugging and replugging it, but if you switch apps, it goes dark again. It is a huge disappointment, and when contacting Logitech, their answer is that it is not supported in Snow Leopard. Don't buy it if you plan to try to use it with Snow Leopard. I doubt there will be any fix either. Apple should have a disclaimer about this, thereby saving the hassle of returning it. Apple should have vetted this product better. …More
