LaCie Poulton 1TB USB 2.0/FireWire/eSATA Hard Disk
Sleek

I use this drive everyday. It's practical. The USB, FW400 and eSata combo allows me to use whichever interface makes sense. The black mirrored finish looks great and I liked the added touch of the blue LED light. Oh and the bottom of the drive is full of holes/vents so this drive stays very cool. …More

Make sure you spend the extra cash and get the multi-connection version
Written by BA from Haarlem

Especially if you want to use it for video/multi-media - the Sata and Firewire speeds and connection easy are worth the few extra bucks, I also have noticed the max. speed of Firewire is much more often attained than it is with the USB and is in general 20% to 30% faster in use. For the rest this is a quality product and worth the extra spend - looks nice too with a small footprint. Look at the high-end of LaCie's drives some very nice stuff - they seem to be going more and more for the pro or prosumer market these days. …More

LaCie Poulton 1TB USB 2.0/FireWire/eSATA Hard Disk
too good looking for its own good
Written by JS from Brooklyn

I bought this drive and on its first day it began making odd noises LaCie would tell me meant serious trouble. Then it would not turn on. They quickly repaired it, but in the meantime I needed backup so I purchased another. Both the second drive and its "repaired" twin irregularly disconnect from my MacBook. I don't know why. But they do it on my Mac Mini also. LaCie offered to repair them again. But I don't care. Stupid drives for stupid money. Yes, all hard drives are ugly except for these, but that isn't good enough. …More

LaCie Poulton 1TB USB 2.0/FireWire/eSATA Hard Disk
I wish it worked
Written by PL from TORONTO

I bought this drive a couple of days ago and it stopped working in the middle of the installation. I tried again and it didn't work either. I got an error message that the disk had failed and needed to be repaired. I tried to repair but somehow the computer couldn't repair so I took it back to the store to exchange it thinking that it was just that this one drive was corrupted. I got another last night and I'm trying to install it as we speak and get the same issue. Not sure whether the computer supports it. I just got this iMac a week ago and I love it. Unfortunately I can't say the same about this drive that I'm going to return tonight... …More
