Overview

Essentials 2 for iPhoto is a collection of four tools to help you correct color, add depth of field realistically by blurring backgrounds, add creative borders, and resize your photos to get a larger print. And with its built-in tutorials and easy-to-use interface you'll be up and running in no time.

Make It Better
This module combines the power of several image adjustment dialogs into a single interface. So you can make complex image adjustments without the need to understand complex image controls or color theory. Rather than cryptic sliders like thresholds and radius, you simply answer a series of visual questions to pick the best settings. Yet advanced users still have access to fine-tune controls for color cast removal, brightness, contrast, dynamic range, and saturation. You can even create presets that you can use over and over again.

Blur It
For more control and precision, you can add realistic depth of field and alter plane of focus and selective focus for any digital image after it's photographed.

The controls in Blur It have a tangible feel very similar to using a lens. You can quickly define the sweet spot either in a round shape or in a plane then determine how much and what kind of blur you want to add. This is a great technique for giving your images some depth--or visual separation between a foreground subject and the background.

Frame It
The Frame It tool really puts you into the digital darkroom. Now it's easy to add realistic film and darkroom edge and border effects to your images. But why stop at the darkroom? You can add artistic edges like torn paper, brush strokes, or even realistic frames and mats you would hang on the walls. You can even stack multiple edges and frames to create your own unique look.

Enlarge It
Increase image size without the loss of sharpness and detail that you would normally expect. Enlarge It can resize your images up to 4x and still maintain sharp edges and minute details. That's like taking a 4x6 print and making it as big as a poster.

Same options as the "pro" stuff at "hobby" price!

If you are a digital photographer and you've been around for more than 15 minutes, you know that OnOne makes a few of the most useful and usable "pro-level" plug-ins for everything from Photoshop to Aperture and that they sell them for more than $400 retail. What is amazing is that this OnOne iPhoto plug-in pack has the exact same "guts" and accomplishes the same "pro" output for under $40! It almost makes me wonder why I paid so much in the first place. Sure, there isn't as many options, but honestly, most of the ones I use regularly are in here. The plug-ins are easy to use, they have good iPhoto integration, real "WOW" output, and all for a price that make it "worth a try." Thanks a lot OnOne, I could have save a bunch of cash! Great product. More

I was able to resolve the technical issues and use the software. It's really great and for a novice pretty easy to follow.

Essentials 2 for iPhoto is a must have! Right out of the box I enlarged an image to 20x30 and headed straight to my photo lab. The photo looks great hanging on my office wall. The software is easy to install and works seamlessly with iPhoto. The interface is simply and easy to use. More

    excellent product

I have purchased it after upgrading to the Snow Leopard and did not experience any problems with it.
If you cannot afford the pro versions of the OnOne plugins or do not use Photoshop or Aperture too often but want to give your iPhoto editing more of a "pro" touch, this would be a great choice. It is a very attractive package for iPhoto that provides lighter versions of some award winning plugins (such as Genuine Fractals) at a much more attractive price. Personally, I consider Blur it and Enlarge it the most useful plugins of the package, and the frame collection would satisfy most users. More

Same problem here. Getting error message "This product is licensed on a different computer." The two other reviews I've seen plus me, that's $117 so far that onOne got for nothing. How can I rate this product minus 1 star? More

Installed on my Macbook 13" OS 10.6.1-DOESN'T WORK - no response from Dev.

I have even uninstalled the software and re-installed it. I only have one Mac and installed it on my Macbook. As soon as I tried to register the software or open it, I get the message that the software is installed on another computer! What is THAT about? Now I'm sitting here with paid software I can't get to run! If anyone has a fix for this, I'd be FOREVER GREATFUL since emailing customer service is USELESS! I would suggest NO ONE ELSE using Snow Leopard buy this software until "I" can re-rate it saying how wonderful it is....I hope! HELP! $40.00 is a lot to give away!
