Waste of time and money
Written by MO from Manchester

Do NOT waste your time or money on this software. It doesn't work right, the symbols are so incredibly basic its ridiculous because 90% of the symbols are just various squares and rectangles that don't show up in the drawing to scale anyway, and it crashes on a regular basis. I just spent 3 hours working on a drawing, saved it and right afterwards the whole program crashed and now the file won't open at all and every time I try to do so, it crashes again. Save yourself the trouble - don't buy this product or anything from these people for that matter. …More

Is this a beta release? crash crash crash.
Written by DG from Belmont

Well there goes there goes another hour's work, where the file is, I do not know.
Pros.
1. Great feature set.
Cons
1. It crashes all the time, sometimes it even tells you it has a NULL ptr errors, but normally it just disappears.
Frequent saving might have helped, but it likes to crash on saves as well.
1.1 Worst thing for crashes seems to be undoing a lot of steps as you try things out.
1.2 Simple drawing will crash
1.3 Complex drawings will crash
2. Import files so so.
3. exporting raster images the whole window must be on the screen. have some of the window over the screen edge and you will get a nice big black band on your image.
5 Not backward compatible. It saves files with the extension .tc3 however these tc3 files are not compatible with the previous turbocad mac pro files (extension .tc3) so too share files with mac pro version users means having to save the files in .tc2 format.
6. The documents, are close to what's on the product, but some things are missing from the manual. Some things in the manual may be missing from the application.
7. If you intend to earn money with it, you won't.
8. To be fair I checked my mac hardware, added more memory and a new drive, so it would have more disk space for temp files. At least my mac works better now
A semi-serious tool? NO.
A tool? NO?
A Toy? Perhaps.

Pretty Good for What You Pay For.
Written by AJ from ROLLING HILLS

Granted this isn't AutoCAD, or some of the other fancy Mac CAD programs, but it does cost over a $1000 either. For about $130 its not bad. Give it some credit folks. It does 2D and 3D CAD. If you need something more complex then buy the fancier packages or switch to ACAD on a PC or Parallels. Most of the time any software I install that crashes is due to installing some other 3rd party hack to my Mac OS. I'm not saying this is the problem some people are having but its something to look at or consider. For the money its not bad and does the job. You get what you pay for.

Use at your own risk!
Written by CE from San Jose

Started out working fine. The features are extremely similar to Graphite (another, slightly less buggy CAD program). After two days without incident, the program suddenly became unstable and crashed constantly. After much frustration, I gave up and decided to return to my previous CAD application only to find that the DXF export no longer worked. It was only after some panicked EPS exports to Illustrator that I managed to salvage about 20 hours of work. Tech support is (not surprisingly) nonexistent.
I was using Build 925 of the software. …More9 of 9 people found this useful

Needs a lot of work
Written by NP from Encinitas

I'm using the trial version. The user interface is better and more intuitive than most real CAD programs, but I can't get past most save/import/export operations before it crashes. Mac software should NEVER crash. I can use windows and have my files hosed every third hour due to major system and programming flaws.
Good: Simplified user interface, layers, import/export from common programs that average people use like illustrator, pdf, autocad etc. I was able to actually use it with some productivity right away without any prior professional CAD training.
Bad: CRASH CRASH CRASH!!! MY FILES ENDED UP HOSED BEYOND RECOVERY!!
The only way I can see using the software is to use the command+s to save it every minute or two. Once I get it saved into the native format, and I save every single change, I can usually get back all of my hard work when it invariably crashes and loses everything I just did after the last successful save. …More22 of 24 people found this useful
