Picked one up the same day I got my 3G. My truck's power port was perfectly located on my dash area. The gooseneck positioned the 3G closer to eye level, so I could easily view it while driving (I know I shouldn't).
A few cool things that stand out:
1. I could swivel this into landscape mode, awesome for GPS/maps. I noticed when in landscape, the release button only released the top arm and not the bottom, which I'm assuming is intentional to keep the 3G in place.
2. I've got a skin on my phone and the dock is adjustable in every way. Spacer pops off by the connector, the clamps are wide enough to accomodate case, and the back support moves forward and back as needed.

be ABSOLUTELY SURE your car has an auxiliary port for the stereo input otherwise this is just an expensive charger - not all cars do!
The overall design is pretty good, like the way it positions the phone for easy reach and viewing, but I kinda wish the neck was just a touch longer so you could tilt it more. The dock was also so-so - functions but you have to really push it down onto the dock when you have any kinda of case on your phone.
The sound was fine - I think about the only thing that kinda irritated me was the lack of instructions - I mean is has an illustration depicting how to place the the charger base in the car lighter and then placing the phone in the dock and THAT'S IT. Best accessory for the iPhone 3G

This is the best accessory for the new iPhone 3G. I got this accessory phone on launch day and went on a week long business trip that was 7 hours away. This was perfect. It fit into the cigarette lighter and I was able to keep my phone charged the whole trip. I was able to plug the iPhone easily into my cassette deck to listen to my music over the car's speakers. It also made it easy to use the iPhone's GPS features which won't die on you during a trip because it's being charged the whole time! The only thing I had a problem was if I took a corner to tight it would tip over, but it was more my fault then the power dock's. …More

Bought this at the store, went down to my car and gave it a shot. HORRIBLE! It's flimsy, fell to the side, and I had to hold the plug in place in order for it to actually charge the phone, and I was just sitting in the parking garage! I took it back within 15 minutes and got my money back. I wish I would have read the reviews before I bought this. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! If 0 stars were an option, I too would give it, 0 stars. It's cheap, bad and not worth the price of the package it came in! …More

Unfortunately I did not have a chance to read all of these reviews before purchasing this. I returned mine the day after I got it. Such a disappointment. The gooseneck is way too short as well as completely useless. It will not hold the weight of the iPhone. The button and locking holders are so cheaply made that they stopped working after 2 attempts of putting my iPhone in the cradle. I wonder if the cradle that TOMTOM is supposed to release is better than this. …More

This product stinks basically because the neck is way to short and the buttons and adjustable arms are just to weak. The neck wasn't strong enough and it did not work well in either and 09' Civic or an older Ford Ranger. It came with and aux cord, that was the only good part. …More
