home run!

i can hear a lot of details that i was missing before. the seal is great-- take a few minutes to experiment with the tips. if you hear no bass, try a new tip. the tips stay on unlike the bose ones. the in-line mic picks up my voice CLEARLY and is located closer to the mouth than most mics and sounds like i am close. nobody has complained. with iPhone, the button has a few features that i will talk about. While in a call with an incoming call, pressing the button places the first call on hold and answers the new one. if you hold the button for 3 seconds it will volley back to the first call.press the button once during a song and it will stop playback of the song. press it again to resume the song. If you press the button quickly twice, it will skip forward to the next song. during a song and call it will stop music and answer the call. When you press the button again, ends call and resumes playback. …More

Rock Out with your Sennheiser Out
Written by TH

Ok, so lets talk about headsets. I love my music and I needed something portable and high end. I did some searching and my buddy told me to get some v-moda's. So I did (mistake!). They were ok (for 2 months), sound quality was not much better then my apple in-ears. But what really upset me was when they broke. I sent them in, nothing physically wrong, just very static sound and I was told that they would not fix them. Real nice investment huh? So I spent about 2 hours learning about what was available and saw these. Side by side against everything else I saw, they seemed to be the best. So I bought a pair. I love my new headset. The sound clarity and bass output is amazing, they are very comfortable, and I am also a big fan of having the wire go behind the neck. Oh yea, added bonus, 2 year warranty. …More

The One You've Been Waiting For...

Finally - quality in-ear headphones compatible with the iPhone. Toss out those assorted goofy adapters! These offer direct compatibility with the original (2007) iPhone jack and has an in-line mic/switch. Sound quaility is very good. Excellent balance of bass, medium and high ranges (this is subjective I know). No distortion even at maximum volume (this is extremely loud too). I prefer in-ear phones as they mitigate outside noise (NYC) and cannot be heard by people around you except at high volumes. Granted, has the same drawbacks of this design (wire-rubbing noise, in-ear placement comfort, potentially dangerous obliviousness to environmental sounds). But for me its simply a perfect combination of sound quality and function - no qualifications. …More

Great sound even survived through the wash
Written by ZG from Austin

I just bought a second pair because the microphone didn't survive a trip through the laundry although the earbuds did. These are a great step up in sound and sturdiness from the iphone headphones while still staying in the 2 digit price range. I have had no issues with the mic button and wrapping the cord around the phone usually works fine for carrying it. …More

Sennheiser MM50

Very good audio clarity, instrumental or heavy metal. Sennheiser should improve the looks to match the excellent built quality. Cord length is a little short as compared to other major brands. No carrying case was included. The cord was twisted and held together by a twist wire when i bought the product, till this day the kinks are still present.

Sennheiser MM50 iP Headset for iPhone
Great sound - terrible button
Written by EC from Toronto

After having tried about 7 pairs of "higher end" headphones (ranging from $80-$250), I settled on the Sennheiser MM50 iP headphones for use with my iPhone 3G. Of all the headphones I tried, I was the most happy with the comfort and sound quality of the Sennheiser MM50 iP. Also, the asymmetrical cable design really keeps the cable off to the side, and out of the way.
My only gripe about these headphones was that the button was NOT well implemented. The design makes the button difficult to press. Of all the headphones I tried, the Sennheiser button was the absolute worst. Even when I bought them, there were reviews/reports that the button didn't work (DOA), but I think mine was working "as designed" (at least at first).
After almost daily use for 7 months, the button and microphone have just stopped working (although they still work as "normal" headphones). [Note: I really baby my stuff. The headphones still look brand new, like they just came out of the box. The button failure is not from mis-use.]
In summary...
- Love the sound quality
- Love the comfort
- Hated the button from day 1
- Button stopped working after 7 months of daily use
I would not recommend these headphones due to the poorly designed, and seemingly high failure rate of the button. Just get good headphones and something like the Griffin SmartTalk. …More10 of 13 people found this useful
