I was looking for a USB hub specifically for my MacBook Air and I actually went to the store on 14th Street/NYC to ask someone if they knew of a specific hub that worked well with the MBA. This is what they referred me to. I didn't have my MBA with me and the MBAs on display though had their security locking device hooked onto the USB port, so I could remove this to check. I was looking for a USB Hub that would allow the MBA to remain flat even while plugged in. Doesn't fit exactly right on a flat surface since the MBA ends up resting on the hub but it doesn't create any sort of tilting motion, so other than the asthetic of not having the MBA flat on the table, it works. But many times, I'm working with the MBA on my lap or in bed and the swivel in two axes actually works against me, flopping over to the side. Not sure what would be better, but the thing works. …More

Does not function for macbook air devices requiring large power

We purchased this device to function with a macbook air and a superdrive external CD drive. The drive does not function when plugged in this way. Belkin customer support informed us that this hub does not supply sufficient power when plugged in to these higher power external devices (we did have the external power plug attached to the Belkin hub as well).
Called Apple as well and they said that the macbook air's USB device sends power at a different rate than most standard devices and this was why there was no compatibility.

It does not work with superdrive.

I bought this item to use both an usb ether net cable and a superdrive. But, it does not support enough power to superdrive, even thoght I plug power cable for the usb hub. Moreover, it does not support enough power to my external hard drive. I really feel regret for buying this usb hub. …More

The overall rating of the product is great. I loved it. It fits in small places and doesn't take up really any room. The only problem I encountered is that the product will NOT charge any of my devices...weather or not i have one or four. I plugged my iPhone 3G[S] in but it said that "Device does not support charging". …More

I love that I can add up to 4 usb using items at the same time, but it has a habit of disconnecting from the computer and driving my external hard drive set up as time machine crazy. If the hub get so much as nudged it disconnects and even cause it to shut down. It's good, but not good enough, and I'm thinking of replacing it with something better. …More

I purchased this 4-port hub a while back and it has worked flawlessly. It is currently connected to my MacBook Pro, which allows me to connect to a Printer, Camera and two external Hardrives, one that serves as a "Time Machine" and the other as a backup Harddrive for my Parallels Windows XP Machine. This is a great product and I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a small, reliable 4-pot Hub. I have refrained from giving this product 5-Stars given that its price is a little steep! …More
