CrossOver Mac by CodeWeavers
Somewhat Satisfied

I had used CrossOver primarily for a solution to my gaming issue. I had switched from PC to MAC and had every issue possible with trying to play the thing. I worked with boot camp, VMFusion, and then some and found no solution. After a month or two of frusteration, I found this program and was thrilled! I downloaded the trial and it worked great...for the programs it was able to work with haha. I don't expect CodeWeavers to have a fix to every single PC program out there but I did hope for more. None the less, this software is for sure the ideal solution for integrating Windows software in to a Mac! …More

Do your homework before buying
Written by LL from La Mirada

I purchased Cross Over hoping to run 2 programs that weren't available for the Mac. Before seeing and buying this product, I was almost ready to buy a PC to run my programs (I didn't want to gum up my Mac running Boot Camp or parallels), so when I saw this product I was very excited, thinking this was going to save me a lot of money! Well, the program would not run my 2 programs. The programs I wanted to run were pretty obscure; one being a program for a Cycle Ops bicycle trainer computer and the other for a hand held gadget for keeping track of Calories you eat at each meal. I believe Cross Over will run most mainstream and popular software but won't work for very specialized or obscure software. Before buying Cross Over, go to their website and check if your software is listed. If it is not, do not buy as it won't work. …More

CrossOver Mac by CodeWeavers
Very disappointing
Written by BB from framingham

I was excited at the prospect of using CrossOver to run some basic Microsoft apps on my MacBook Pro. That made it all the more frustrating that two of the three apps I wanted to use (all of which are listed as supported) either do not work outright or consistently crash. This is a good idea implemented in a very poor way, it just plain does not work well.
I have since started using Parallels and running the needed programs in "coherence" mode. While not perfect (the virtual Vista Business machine occasionally blue screen when the laptop goes into power save mode), it works fine at what I need it to do.
CrossOver was very, very disappointing, and was totally unusable for me. …More106 of 144 people found this useful

CrossOver Mac by CodeWeavers
DOES NOT WORK
Written by JK from Bloomfield Hills

Within 2 days of purchasing this product (via download from Codeweavers' website), I requested a refund for it. I tried to install 7 different windows programs on my mac with CrossOver, but none of the would work. Most of them would not install at all - the installer just froze or Crossover came back saying the install failed. The two that did install would not launch - they quit a few seconds after I tried to launch them, without ever loading up fully. The only program that I was able to get working correctly was IE7, because the installer for it comes bundled with Crossover, along with Microsoft Office and some other basic programs. This product is a major let down; don't waste your time or money. …More

It does not work!
Written by CI from STOCKHOLM

I tried the demo version with two unsupported programs that otherwise install just fine when the Mac is rebooted under WindowsXP. CrossOver could not install either program. This app is not useful. The only supported programs already exist for the Mac platform, so ther is no point in getting an app that does not support programs not yet available for the Mac. Recommendation: DO NOT BUY. …More
