Awesome Speakers for iPhone and iPod
Written by SL from Cumming

I have an iPhone which I use with the SoundDock portable and the combination works great. The sound is awesome. There are some songs that I need to use the iPhone EQ on, but for the most part, I do not need to change anything. The best part about this is the portability. You can take this anywhere thanks to the rechargeable battery. The reviews say that you can get up to 3 hours with full volume. I haven’t had it at full volume on battery, but pretty close to it and have gotten so far 5 hours. Another great feature is the ability to use a portable cd-player, portable xm-radio etc via the input in the back, so this is not exclusive to the iPod / iPhone. While this is a bit pricy, you will definitely be happy with the purchase of the portal SoundDock! …More

Great Portable Speakers
Written by TD from Atlanta

Just bought these and tested them out at the beach. They are an amazing improvement over my portable Altec Lansing's. I am blown away by the amount of bass (tight, not muddy) and amount of volume this puppy shells out. Good battery life (4-6 hours per charge at moderate-loud volume) and great sound all the way up until the battery dies. Rechargable/replaceable battery definately a plus. Has an 1/8" line in input for other sources like CD/MD but I only use it for ipod. Stoweaway dock a cool feature too. Have tried it with 2nd and 3rd generation iPod and my iPhone. My 2nd gen ipod froze up with the unit but all others worked great. Only con is they are $$ (not as bad with iphone rebate, thank you apple!) but hands down best portable ipod speakers currently on the market. …More

This is the best speaker ever. It is so loud that you can hear it from 1/3 mile away!
It has incredible battery life and even charges the ipod when it is not plugged in to the wall. Mine when fully charged lives up to six hours! I would highly recommend this. …More587 of 751 people found this useful

very very good... almost great....

just got my bose sounddock portable, its a good ipod soundsystem. i've been listening and reading reviews on ipod speakers for a while now and i am very happy that i've decided to get the sounddock portable. it was a tough decision because of the price tag. In the reviews and youtube video reviews that i've been reading and watching, seems that most reviewers prefers the logitech pure-fi anywhere. i've tested the pure-fi's but i dont think the sound quality comes anywhere close to bose. Pure-fi delivers.. but sounds cheap. there were no bass aesthetics in the sound quality. i wouldnt say bose is the best cause i've also heard the B&W zeppelin and i think that the sound from B&Ws are great but i dont like the design.
On the Bose Sounddock Portable, you can control the sound by using the ipod equalizer so you do have some options to control the fidelity of the music you are listening to... a bit troublesome but i guess its the same if you were using a normal hi-fi system. as for battery power, i am getting at least 6 hours of listening pleasure on mid to high volume and bose can really push it! :-)
my only regret is that i've waited too long on my decision to buy the bose sounddock portable... besides the B&W Zeppelin, there are no better ipod sound system... …More19 of 19 people found this useful

Worth Every Penny
Written by JW from Arlington

The Bose Sound Dock P.D.M.S. is a couple hundred dollars more than some of the other Portable music systems... In fact, when I purchased mine from the apple store in Las Vegas my father opted for a cheapo. One month later he bought the Bose. So, he spent ($185+$399=$584) and the off name device is in my fathers garage collecting dust.
Additionally, I bought a high end Klipsch system for my Mac Pro. While the will Klipsch rattle your fillings, the Bose system has plenty of power. I returned the Klipsch and bought another Bose system. …More11 of 11 people found this useful

Good news. Yes it does! (Great to help another Aussie out). The Bose® SoundDock® Portable comes with the dock itself, battery, AC cable, remote and some other bits (manual, etc). Just insert the battery into the dock, plug in the AC cable and charge (best to charge overnight when you first get it, to maximise battery life) and your good to go. Enjoy your music the way it was meant to be. Played through Bose speakers! Enjoy and hope this helps! …More
