True HDMI digital connections
Intensity Pro features an analog component, NTSC, PAL and S-Video for capture and playback. Connect to HDV cameras and digital set-top boxes for the highest quality, uncompressed capture, bypassing the HDV compression chip.
Ideal for monitoring uncompressed HD, HDV and DV edits on the latest big screen televisions and video projectors.

With Intensity, you can now capture and play back full resolution HDTV uncompressed video for true broadcast and feature film quality editing.
Totally eliminate HDV and DV compression quality problems and render much cleaner graphics while retaining deeper colour and image detail.
If you need lower data rate editing, you can select from a range of professional compressed video capture modes using technology used on Hollywood feature films. Why limit your creativity?

Can you use the Blackmagic Intensity Pro HDMI Card on the imac?

No. This is a PCI Express expansion card - only Mac Pros have that type of expansion slot.
In your situation, simply purchase one of the many external converter boxes with a FireWire or USB2 interface, such as the Grass Valley/Canopus series of products; or one of the BlackMagic or ElGato USB "dongle" converters, which plug right into a USB2 port. …More- Answered by Matthew R from Santa Fe

I want to buy an HD camera but I'm afraid I won't be able to digitize the footage to FCPro. Will this product solve that problem?
- Asked by Jana P from Akron
- Mar 27, 2010
Answer
The short answer is 'yes'.
If you buy an HD camera that records on an internal hard drive, you'll be able to transfer the files via USB into FCP. If its a tape based HD camera you will need to capture it in real time, and the Intensity Pro will do a great job through its HDMI input.
Good Luck
