Fine, as long as you don't use a cinema Display with your laptop.

    • Written by from Astoria

This is a good stand, Sturdy, well built and attractive. The little hole for routing cables in the back is useful: as long as you don't have a cinema display. The DVI connector for a cinema display (or any other display) will not fit through the hole in the back. This was disappointing, because the usb/firewire cables that are attached to the DVI connector of a cinema display are not long enough to permit the cinema cable to go through the side and the remaining cables to go underneath. This is a pretty serious design flaw, given that the photo of the stand in their packaging shows the stand being used with a Macbook Pro, next to a cinema display ... cables conspicuously absent from the photo. Great Stand!

    • Written by from Rancho Santa Margarita

This stand is sturdy and help circulate heat from my new MacBook Pro (15 in). I usually setup my new MacBook Pro on this stand along with wireless keyboard and mouse, just like having a mini desktop. My family use this stand a lot. More

exactly what I was looking for

    • Written by from Santa Clara

For me the stand is what I wanted. No active cooling (fans). For me, I want to have some additional cooling, but not the noise that ultimately comes with another fan spinning on my desk. The stand is nice and solid. A good tilt to help with cooling. The final piece being the aesthetic fitting into the "apple" style.

    Pros ---
    - brushed aluminum
    - very solid construction
    - quality plastics and rubber components
    - provides good tilt to macbook for cooling
    - good macbook screen viewing height
    - no active cooling

    Cons ---
    - no active cooling
    - expensive for what you are getting

    what a difference

    • Written by from San Rafael

I've been dealing with some neck strain problems for a couple of months now and one suggestion that was made was to get a neck stand to bring the height of my laptop up so I was not straining my back to see the screen. I've only had this stand for a short time but what a difference it has made!

I don't find typing on it particularly awkward, I do have a mouse that I connect to it but I don't think getting an additional keyboard is mandatory.

    Great purchase!

  • Questions about heat sink.

    Answer

Great heat sink. When not using my MBP o this stand, I place my dsl modem and router (one on top, one on bottom) on it to dissipate their heat. Proof that it works as a fine heat sink is the vastly increased time between heat-related Internet connection issues with modem and router. Far, far less disconnecting modem and router because of heat issues. Same heat sinking effect with MBP as the aluminum conducts heat away from the MBP. More

It is at a rather steep incline to use the MacBook's keyboard comfortably, but the mouse would be somewhat comfortable to use. The extra keyboard and mouse are not necessities but would be more comfortable than using the keyboard at a 45 degree angle. More
