Alsoft DiskWarrior 4
Don't panic! DiskWarrior will find your documents, photos, music and any other files when disaster strikes and things go missing.
Learn moreOverview
Or perhaps you've tried to open a document and all that happens is a color wheel that spins and spins and spins. Or when your Mac starts up, all you get is a blinking question mark. Whatever the problem, DiskWarrior gets you back up and running fast.
DiskWarrior repairs disks no other utility program can repair. Using a patent-pending, award-winning method of rebuilding directories, it can find your missing documents and files. And with a single click, DiskWarrior locates all salvageable files and folders and builds a new error-free, optimized directory for you to use.
You can also easily check if your missing documents and items have been recovered. DiskWarrior's preview feature lets you see how your disk will appear after it is repaired, but before any changes are made. You can even compare your disk in its damaged state to its repaired state.
Incredibly safe to use, DiskWarrior verifies your repaired directory to ensure it is error free. It then uses a fail-safe method of replacing the damaged directory to ensure that interruptions such as power outages won't harm your data.

Simple & Powerful
Written by DM from Belmont Shore

Took ages (at least 8-9 minutes) to start-up using the Disk Warrior DVD-ROM inserted into my "dead" 17" MacBook Pro's Super Drive... After a lot of painful noisy zipping and spinning, everything went smooth and very easy: just a mouse-click and the Hard Disk was resurrected. I highly recommend Disk Warrior. Just make sure you give it a LOT of time to start up... …More

Took forever to startup
Written by MM from Salinas

It took forever to startup when using DiskWarrior as the startup disk. It took so long that I shut the computer down 3 times thinking my optical drive was going to over heat. I put it in a fourth time and just let it go. I bet it took a full 5 minutes plus to startup from the DiskWarrior CD. Outside of the slow startup it performed great as DiskWarrior always does. I waited a long time for this version. I have an Intel iMac and it was worth the wait. Just make sure you give it plenty of time to startup. Mike …More

Worth the Price
Written by RS from APPLETON

I own a 12" PB G4 and I have corrupted my hard drive twice while rendering in Final Cut. Both times my computer slowed down and would take 2 or more minutes just to open programs. I bought Disc Warrior and each time it has fixed my computer back to its original state (or faster) without losing any info. Highly recommended. …More

didn't help much
Written by KB from Sebastopol

I wasted an entire day running the program, and 100 bucks for the thing to tell me my external hard drive had problems. I had read such great (now I believe tainted) reviews of this software that I thought it may succeed where I failed to fix the drive. Turns out this software isn't any better than I am at repairing drive issues. The price of a new external hard drive wasn't much more than this disappointing software. If you're trying to decide between the two, and thinking this software will fix your drive and then keep it healthy, think again, spend 50 bucks more and just buy the new external hard drive. …More

Works Great on Mac-Mini
Written by MR from San Rafael
Aug 30, 2009
I read the comments about the program not working, and was worried it would not repair my Mac-Mini, which would not boot. I knew there were disk errors on my computer, but could not repair them with Mac Disk Utility program.
Disk Warrior instructions were easy to understand. Program fixed the errors first time out of the box, in about 10 minutes. Computer now appears to be running without error.
For those who stated software would not work on their version of Macs, check for upgrade versions. …More10 of 11 people found this useful
