Using an entirely new game engine created by the Las Vegas-based developer Petroglyph, Empire at War features beautifully rendered land and space battles set on memorable planets such as Yavin IV, Tatooine, and Dagobah, as well as never-before-seen environments taken directly from the Star Wars films and expanded universe novels.
In the game, you choose to join either the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire, building and setting up tactical forces to unleash upon the enemy in real-time 3D. You can also bring memorable Star Wars hero characters into the action to help turn the tide of the battle as players build, manage, and upgrade their space and ground-based units, vehicles, troops, and base structures.

This game has been out for a while and it is WAY better than Command and Conquer 3, which is brand new. The graphics are good and the special characters really make you feel like part of the series. Coming from a seasoned video game player, this game is loads of fun. …More

Star Wars: Empire at War
Good, but not for those that prefer games like Battlefront

You just bought an Intel Mac. Congrats, now you just have to find something to entertain yourself on your new Intel Mac. Other than Halo: Combat Evolved, you should download the demo first to see if you like this. I like Star Wars games like Rouge Squadron and both Starwars Battlefront games, but this is more of an aquired taste for me. Yes, I am impressed with the graphics in the demo, but I think I wouldn't get this game because I don't like most strategy games (Both RTS and TBS, if you're just wondering).
IN THE LONG RUN: If you like games like Rouge Squadron, then this wouldn't be for you. But, if you're a fan of statagy games and want something that runs smoothly on your new Intel Mac, then good for you. …More304 of 509 people found this useful

The game it self is very fun the play. This is the catch, say if you have a macbook and you just bought Star wars: Empire at war, you will have to use the lowest graphics, or it will glitch or gameplay will be slow. Still the graphics are not that bad in lowest. Well if you have a macbook pro you will be fine in highest graphics. Great game and the price is very good. …More
