Rain Design iLap for 15-inch Notebooks
Highly Recommended!!

I've been using this for 3 weeks now & it's worth every penny. Rubber "soles" help secure MB Pro in place. Cushions work great except that the velcro makes it harder to put back on. The aluminum helps discipate the heat nicely. I used to a couch pillow previously, but the heat was insulated & the fan turned on frequently. Since using iLap, the fan has not turned on once. The aluminum also keeps the weight much lighter than what I expected. Recommended for those working in front of the TV & in the office just the same! …More

Rain Design iLap for 15-inch Notebooks
Nice!

I've had this for about a week now, and I don't know how I lived without it! The cushions are really comfortable, and my posture has improved. I have a mild case of carpal tunnel and it has helped ease my pain. It was much lighter than I expected. It includes silicon feet for your laptop so they don't slide, in case the feet on your laptop wear out. My only (minor) complaint is that the cushion is attached with Velcro, so it can be a pain to put back on. I definitely recommend it. …More

Rain Design iLap for 15-inch Notebooks
Worthless and overpriced

I found this to be worthless because my laptop still gets overheated and $50 for a cheap piece of metal? I got a Belkin laptop cooler with a USB fan that actually works and works a lot better for only $15. …More

Rain Design iLap for 15-inch Notebooks
Awesome, but a bit Overpriced

A couple other people said that the laptop doesn't stay on the stand, but that can't be true if you use the four clear rubber/plastic pads they give you to stick onto the stand. Also, people have said that the wrist pad falls off, there's a 12-inch strip of Velcro holding it on, it has never come close to coming off.
Overall, its an awesome product that doubles as a desktop stand, as well as being useful on your lap. Its light, looks good, keeps your lap and laptop cool, and for those of you who don't want to scratch the bottom of your laptop, it will solve this problem too. …More12 of 12 people found this useful

Rain Design iLap for 15-inch Notebooks
Great simple product

My 15" macbook practically lived on my ilap. Whether on the desk, in bed or on my lap, it was there. It gives the notebook a slight forward tilt that makes typing a little easier. However, I hated the fact that the optical drive on the earlier macbook pros was in the front and was blocked by the front cushion. I had to lift my mac over the cushion every time I wanted to insert or eject a disk. Annoying.
I bought the ilap because I didn't have a suitable surface at home to place my laptop on save a pillow which I know will suffocate the vents. I also didn't want any cooling stand that needed electricity or would use up one of the usb ports on my computer. I am not a heavy gamer so I don't need two fans and an air conditioner pointed at my machine.
My front cushion doesn't fall off at all the way some people mentioned. In fact, the velcro is very strong.
I now use my 13" macbook on here and love that the optical drive is on the side. Also, the front cushion is great for protecting your wrists from that brutal edge.
I really think the ilap is has an excellent and simple design. It's lightweight, versatile, and high quality.
However, when you use it on your lap the weight of the laptop is not evenly distributed over your entire thigh but solely rests on the back cushion. Over time this makes me feel as if my thighs are falling asleep, forcing me to shift due to discomfort. For that it gets four stars. …More11 of 11 people found this useful

yes, it works with any computer. But you wouldn't want to put a computer on it that was larger because it would stick out on the sides. For a better fit get the 13" ilap, not the 15". …More
