I've gone through many different pairs of headphones(Sennheiser, Sony, Skullcandy,...etc) and these Bose Around-Ear Headphones are by far the best. These are amazing quality, light-weight, and comfortable headphones. Definately worth the price. Even if they break, you are still covered with a 1 year warranty. If you are using these to listen to your iPod with, be sure to change the import settings in iTunes to "lossless audio" in order to get the full power of these babies. …More

I've tried many different brands and those are the best sounding earphones, unlike some other Bose products which sometime lack deep bass, those have rich bass and sound terrific with every type of music... try them and you won't be disappointed... These things sound great and are very light. I tried them out at a store display and liked them better than the on ear versions.
I think they are good alternative to the more expensive QuietComfort phones (they were available to try as well). If you really don't need to completely shut out the world, these are great phones.

Great product with one minor limitation

I have had a pair of these for over a year now. The sound reproduction is great. Being over-the-ear, I tend to use this at lower volumes that the regular ipod/iphone earphones. They are pretty comfortable and the cushioning around the ear means you can wear them for a pretty decent amount of time before they actually start to hurt. Bose provides you with a drawstring bag which really does not provide any sort of protection for the headphones. I usually carry them around in my backpack but I'm pretty careful how I handle them, even then the headphones came apart after about 10months. Both the around the ear muffs that encase the headphone speakers are attached to the over-the-head mechanism by three tiny screws that drive into a plastic mold. This flimsy attachment will easily come apart. That said Bose replaced my set free of cost because it was still under warranty without any ado whatsoever. In fact if it was out of warranty I could have traded in a pair for a new one for half the price. All in all this is a nice set of headphones that I use on a daily basis and would highly recommend this for anyone who is willing to shell out $100+ for a pair. …More

Great sound but quality could be better

I bought these headphones four years ago as an upgrade to the apple ear buds. The sound was great and the price was very reasonable. I would listen to to them everywhere from around my house to an airplane. The sound blew me away every time and they were so easy to carry. Unfortunately, on my most recent trip overseas the cord severed and I could only get music out of the right side. In conclusion these headphones are fantastic. beats by dre compared my bose around ear the monster headphones with deep bass not good to change the equalizer because crackles sound quality to maximum the volume of ipod! i can prove because my experience in APPLE CENTER bose around ear is bEst fOr me coMpare tHe beats not wOrth it tO buy this mOnster headphone! iwW hahahaha!
