Overview
You can easily configure the XRackPro2 to meet your particular needs, using its fully adjustable mounting rails and built-in cable management system.
The sound-dampening design reduces noise from equipment mounted inside the enclosure, while simultaneously keeping everything cool. That's because all external panels are lined with specially engineered acoustical foam, each door opening is sealed and all wire grommets have foam inserts.
XRackPro2 features heavy duty steel construction and sealed glass front door that keeps all rackmount servers, storage solutions and other equipment visible. You can use the optional carpet-safe caster rollers to create a rolling rackmount enclosure that is sturdy, yet easy to move when needed.

Works as advertised... but...

My closet is exactly 24.5" deep with the door closed. Perfect, or so i thought. The Unit is advertised to be 24" wide. In fact 24 7/8" (at it's maximum point, where the hinges stick out). So it won't work for the purpose I bought it for, quite a disappointment. Also, while it does make my office very quiet, in my bedroom (which is *directly* below the server), i can still hear a high pitched whine, I'm guessing because the noise conduction thru the rack, thru it's feet and into the floor. Bummer, another fail. It's actually much louder (in the bedroom) than simply putting the server naked on top of some foam. So I guess i now have to put the rack on top of foam :(
Other than that, it's now as quiet as my desktop mac, while sitting in my office. …More5 of 9 people found this useful

Excellent noise reduction and ventilation

Due to logistics, I ended up with an Xserver that had to be placed in my office. I was not looking forward to the experience, since previously we had had it sitting out in the open in a monitored lab. However, after mounting in the XRackPro 4U rack, the sound is less than the ambient noise in the office, and the air circulation keeps the temperature at the low end of the scale in Server Monitor. …More
