Overview

Realtime cloud cover, temperature and seven day forecasts give you "weather on your desktop." Using the highest resolution NASA satellite maps, Software MacKiev's new 3D Weather Globe lets you locate cities, plot travel routes, time zones, country borders, night/day line and more.

3D Weather Globe & Atlas provides current weather updated every 15 minutes. This includes high/low temperatures, humidity, wind direction and speed, atmospheric pressure, UV index, dew point and wind-chill factor for more than 40,000 locations worldwide. Detailed seven-day forecasts let you plan the week ahead. There's even a stylish, retro 3D weather widget that displays a barometer, thermometer and anemometer on your Dashboard (Mac OS X v10.4).

The Atlas gives you the highest resolution maps of the entire planet--scaled at one pixel to a kilometer-showing how the Earth really looks from outer space. Zoom in to see the extraordinary details of the Earth's surface.

What you can see:
  • An astronaut's-eye-view of the Earth
  • Mountains, rivers, lakes and deserts
  • Real-time weather and cloud cover
  • 7-day forecast including wind and humidity
  • Day/night line changing with the seasons
  • Accurate latitude/longitude markings
  • All countries in the same time zone
  • Hurricanes, tropical storms, rain patterns

  • Distances between any of 40,000+ cities

Beautiful graphics and coloring, very nice!

This is a very nice product, It is a very accurate weather station for over 40,000 cities and you can go anywhere on earth that you want. The only downside is that you cant zoom in on cities like google earth, but the quality of graphics and coloring are incomparable!
The layout is like google earth, you have a globe and you drag it and so on. you just type a city in to the little window and hit Enter and "Boom" ( as Steve Jobs says a lot!) you got the current weather conditions and a forecast and it also goes as close as it can to the city. Another cool part is that if you are connected to the internet, it gives you live satellite imagery all over the world! I saw a tropical cyclone in Australia! Alother cool feature is that it comes with two wonderful screensavers that you are sure to use(if you use screensavers).

This is a very unique program, I recommend it to anyone, especially Earth Science enthusiasts!

For my desktop screen, I use the world map, that shows satellites, clouds, various cities, weather patterns, earthquakes, storm paths that is constantly updated every minute. This is just the desktop. There is so much more. A great product that will keep you entertained for a long time. I highly recommend this software. rlb More

This is a great way to get weather forecasts and warnings. It is an extremely well written program and is highly educational for the entire family. Helpful for planning long distance ground or air travel. More

This product is TERRIBLE, don't waste your money like I did

This software was a HUGE disappointment. I bought it for a friend of mine who is a huge weather nut and travel guru. THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS PROGRAM THAT CANNOT BE FOUND ONLINE FOR FREE. I have read through every inch of the manual and this program was a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY and I am heartbroken that I gave such an awful gift to someone I care about. And what's worse, I can't even return it because we already installed it. Save your money and go to weather.com or google earth and get the same results. More
