PERFECT! (almost)
Written by ST from Arlington

Okay...here's da lowdown. I have used many a high dollar headphone from Ultimate Ears, Sennheiser, Etymotic, B&O, Shure and for my ears, I prefer the QC2...UNTIL NOW...the QC3, to me, is more robust/direct sounding with amazin' noise reduction for an over the ear design. I must disclose that I prefer a full-bodied sound and these cans exceed this requisite. Are they worth $349? Is the Lexus LS460 worth $75K+? All these factors are subjective...I feel that the QC3 overall is the best headphone on the market when comfort/noise reduction/overall sound are factored (notice I left price out). It's up to you...but for me I bought a pair for myself, da wife and my father and said goodbye to my "holy-grail" QC2's. Actions speak louder then words...I love technology! Please, please don't buy based on my recommendation or avoid a purchase based on a negative review...try 'em in person and do what makes YOU happy...BOSE gives you 30 days with nothing to lose...Good listening to all! …More

Love Em' But Prefer QC2's
Written by HR from Mill Valley

My father owns a pair of these QC3's and the first thing I noticed was how they were less comfortable than the QC2's. Upon comparison I found little difference in sound quality or noise reduction. To me these really seemed just like a more compact, slick, pair of QC2's. Personally I'd go for comfort rather than a slightly smaller ear cup.
The recharable battery is great for home use if they're running low on power just plug them in, but on flights with no adapters forgetting to plug them in the night before can end in disaster. The recharable battery will probably save you small amounts of money in the end, but carrying a pack of AAA's is simply easier for me.
That's not to say I don't love these headphones, just personally I don't find any improvement over the QC2's if you already own a pair of QC2's defenitly not worth picking up, if you've never owned or used a pair of Quite Comforts go to your local bose store and try them both out before deciding. …More302 of 394 people found this useful

Great noise cancellation, bad sound quality.
Written by SL from fort lee

Good:
- The noise cancelation works well.
- The leather is soft and of high quality
- The case is nice and comes with adapters for plane.
Bad:
- I can confirm solidly as others have also stated that the sound quality is bad, as bad as the over priced Sennheisers headphones. This hp was not made for guitar or classical music.
- As others as stated, the plastic is weak, my headphones broke (fixed with crazy glue).
- And as others have stated the bass tend to be strong, drowning out the other frequencies.
Sony MDR definitely has better sound and built in lithium batteries.
I tested my headphones on a cross Pacific flight using PSP Go, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch. I also tested the headphones on a PS3 via a Samsung HDTV through a HDMI connection and a Macbook Pro. …More1 of 1 people found this useful

Bose QuietComfort
Written by EB from ATLANTA

I have used the three Bose QuietComfort headphones and model 3 is superior to previous generations. They are less instrusive/bulky than the two previous models and fit well over my ears, especially for 12-14 hrs of travel by plane. They combine well with horse-shaped pillows. I miss the two-level volumen control of model 1, and the regular AAA batteries of models 1 and 2. The current rechargable battery is handy but does not last for the second leg of my trips to SE Asia. Trying to recharge the battery is a pain in foreign airports. If you have the same problem, buy a second battery (or borrow the one from your wife's headphones). …More

Great On-Ear Headphones, but not worth it for the price
Written by JM

Not to long ago I purchaced a pair of Sony Noise-Canceling Headphones, and I also professionally tried out the Bose QuietComfort 3 On-Ear Acoustic Noise Canceling Headphones. Turns out, the Sony ones' work just as good, and they're 1/4 of the price. The Bose is still a good choice, but if you're trying to save money, I recommend you buy the Sony ones'. Trust me, I'm a professional. …More
