    Great all purpose lense

I just got this a couple of days ago for my Canon 5D when my 24-85 got damaged and have already taken enough pics to fill a 2gb card. It seems about .5 pound heavier than the other one, has a wider barrel and a 72mm filter mount. It does seem like a better lense and that wider zoom for just a bit over $100 more in price really makes a difference.

Good lenses are expensive but I found this one very reasonable for what it is. Not quite pro since it does not have the 'L' designation, but it sure is a high grade consumer lense!!

One of The Best "All Around" Lenses

I've had this lens for over 2yrs and can't put into words just how great it is. It's fast, lots of range, very sharp and fantastic as an all around lens. I rarely take the lens off except when doing specialty shots where I need my telephoto or super macro. The only minor con is it's heavy but that's just the price you pay for top quality "glass".

I started out with the 28-135 on my RebelXT and now use it with my 30D. The price is very respectable considering the quality you get. If you need a good, durable all around lens look no further.

    Great Lens

I have used this lens for almost 10 years now, both on my Rebel 2000 film SLR and on my Canon 10D. The image stabilizer makes a world of difference between having a picture be clear or not at a low shutter speed. It's no replacement for a good tripod, but it's a great feature to have. More
