This software taught my daughter how to use a mouse!

This software is fantastic. My 3 1/2 year old is completely engaged when the software is on. It encourages word recognition as well as interaction with the user (my daughter). If you want to check it out, go to your local Apple store. My daughter loved it so much she made me take her everytime we visited our local mall. In fact, I bought my first Mac because of it. More

Not a good product - you will be disappointed.

I bought this for my 5 year old granddaughter. I purchased thinking the Seuss name would be associated with a quality children's program. I first tried it myself. Its chief feature is the story is read in an interesting voice. The child can follow along as the text is highlighted in pace with the narative. That is about all it does. You can click objects on the page and they will wiggle around a bit. There is a balancing game that not even I could figure out. Navigation is not intuitive, even for an adult. My granddaughter is bright and enjoyed playing Dora the Explorer many hours. With the Cat in the Hat, she was through playing in about half hour. She kept asking me how to make it work. I couldn't help her. Even though we love Dr. Seuss, the game was a big disappointment. This game needs to be reworked with the aid of outside educational consultants. More

    Not a good Product

If what you are looking for is an interactive game that will teach your child skills, this is NOT the software for you. It basically reads a story aloud to your child and then your child can choose to click on items on the screen, which then move around a bit. My five year old sits in front of it with the same slack-jawed expression as watching TV. A very mindless and stupid game!

Well-designed software for play and learning about basic interactivity

There are many badly designed pieces of kids software that are not intuitive or fun. This is a great exception. It's fun to have the story read aloud, fun to play with the pages and objects in the onscreen book, and the mouse control and interactivity are intuitive for kids. My 5 year old loves it! We will look for more titles by this company. More
