    GREAT for your laptop only

My 12" Powerbook fits great and seems to be well protected. The bag is very comfortable and good looking. The section that is for books and papers is slim. It will fit only a few files or one text book. Pencil pouch will fit a graphing calculator or a small reading book. I bought the bag for a trip to europe, and it worked great. Take note that there is no lockable section. More

    no baggage with this bag

this is the perfect companion for my black beauty macbook. i was worried it wouldn't have enough space for extra stuff like most larger cases i've seen. my mac is very well protected thanks to the thick yet sleek padding. plus there is another section big enough for another macbook which i keep the charger, power chord, and papers in. there are three other zippered compartments big enough for manuals, restore discs, CDs, ipod charger, front row remote, and other random stuff. in the inside pocket, there is a little detachable clip with a key ring for keys flash drives or anything else to put on a key ring. the pocket thing on the strap is perfect for cell phones, it holds my nano easily, and can most likely give ipod video a nice snug fit. i really didn't like the fact it looked grey in the picture, but ince you get it it is actualy more black. it is very stylish and compact. i highly recomend it for the function, style, and price. Handsome Bag With Protection and Storage Space. Five Stars

Written by CF from Incline Village

This is a very nice bag for the MacBook 13". Very well made, a nice compartment for the MacBook and plenty of storage for the Magsafe powercord.

Obviously there is not a lot out yet for the new MacBook. This is the bag for those complaining about lack of storage space in the Brenthaven 13" Edge case. I thought about getting the Brenthaven but wanted something that could be self contained with all the accesories I would need for a trip. Problem solved. I am sure there will be other stuff out in the near future but you won't go wrong buying the STM Small Alley.

The color is darker than what it appears to be in this photograph which is fine as it won't show dirt like some of the other crazy colors you see.

Quality strap and handle and several storage compartments. There is a little pouch on the strap that is too small for the power cord. I think maybe it would be just right for an iPod. My Shuffle would definitely fit with ear buds and all. Probably the Nano too. I plan to get a neoprene sleave when they finally come out in the 13" format and use that in conjunction with the Small Alley. Though I think the Alley has pretty good protection on it's own.

    Fragile

    Written by DR from Memphis

My school recently bought a very large number of these cases when they upgraded our hardware from iBook G4s to MacBooks. Every students carries the bag daily. In one word, the cases are fragile. School started in mid-August, and by now, November, most of the cases have already fallen apart, malfunctioned, or have begun to fall apart. Reports of the shoulder strap pad coming off began in September. All the pockets are great (I don't even have to carry a purse!), but when the bag can't even last 6 months? (it's not just because we're kids and we roughhouse our bags either; even the kids who can make a paperbound workbook last a full year when used every day have had their bags at least begin to deteriorate.) If you only plan on using the bag occasionally, buy away, and enjoy the pockets. More

A big-small bag. it does the job... without excitement!

It is not that easy to find a good looking and functional bag for a macbook pro 13. Hey, why would you throw such a nice looking computer in an ugly bag? I love my notebook because it is small so I was looking for a small bag. The vertical position seems the best choice.

I was a little surprised to see how loose my macbook pro fits in the bag. In fact, you can actually fit 2 in the padded section for the computer. This is odd! I guess the designers at STM should pay attention to computer specs a little more... I have not seen lot of thick 13 computers lately.

Talking about basic design... when i close a bag, I expect the velcro to land where they should. A key ring should not unclip by accident. (this of course, do not happen if the designer choose the right clip).

The pictures you find on the net are pretty accurate. It's good looking. Discreet. it's good quality. But if you are looking for a snug fit... excellent design, minimal space, and nothing bulky, this is not for you.

    Well designed, but poorly constructed

I've had this bag for about 6 months, and it is very functional for the most part. Plenty of well-placed pockets and nicely padded. However, the zippers on my unit have both failed in the time I have owned it, and I did not even use it on a daily basis. The workmanship is disappointing. More
