NO USB OUTLETS on the keyboard

    Written by TC from Astoria

Beware! Unlike keyboards manufactured by apple, this one has no USB ports for your mouse and temporary peripherals. If you have a Mini, both the USB ports on the machine would be taken up all the time by your keyboard and mouse. It's an attractive design, but not very practical. More

Good typing feel and it is very light and thin.

My experience with this keyboard is very positive. I have a variety of keyboards, including the wired Apple keyboard, BT Apple Keyboard, Gyration Keyboard, and etc. Even though Apple Keyboards are well made and easy to type, they are thicker than this Kensington keyboard. This keyboard has short cuts for volume control, disk eject, play/stop, forward, backward, and sleep botton. It is think; so you feel like you are typiing directly on the desk (which is a good feeling). More

    Not bad, but not great.

I got this because I love my powerbooks keyboard, and I was constantly swtiching between my powerbook and my iMac, and my accuracy on the Apple Keyboard was pretty bad. I figured this keyboard would help. It did, and it's not bad. I have had the keyboard for about 6 months, and my space bar and "." keys are both going bad, they require a pretty firm stroke to work. Also I have noticed some duplication in keystrokes. For example I will hit "k" but the keyboard will output "kkkk". Kind of obnoxiuos, but oh well. I think I will be switching back to the Apple Keyboard, I just need those darn USB ports so bad. I also don't like the design as much as the Apple Keyboard, it's a little too 'Microsofty' for me. And I can't get the multimedia buttons to work anyway, so what's the point?

All in all, not a bad keyboard, but not that good either.

first of all the fact that this keyboard doesn't have usb ports shouldn't really make a difference. the keyboard is fantastic. i've had it for about 6 months and have not had any issues with it. it's an amazing keyboard. i switched the standard mac board for the kensington and absolutely love it. i love the controls on the top for itunes and it has an awesome sleek finish for anyone trying to match with their mac. i use mine every day and absolutely love it. Great for small hands!

Love the ease of the keystrokes and the compact keyspace. It works well for smaller hands. I have a touch of tendinitis so the minimal movement is less painful. I work on computers all day and will purchase this keyboard for my home computer also. Great job Kensington. More

It's the Holy Grail of non-Apple keyboards

    Written by SS from Broadbeach

Now admittedly I have a specific requirement for an external keyboard - it needs to be short enough to fit into my backpack and it needs to have a numeric keypad. This keyboard fits those criteria admirably. I find it exceptionally easy to type on and the iTunes controls work perfectly - play, pause, forward and previous tracks - as well as volume controls. It still has the Home and Page Up etc keys.
Two minor niggles - additional USB ports would be nice; having 2 Ctrl keys on the left is weird - why not make the space bar one key wider, then have the normal Ctrl; Option and Cmd on the left of the space bar.
Until Apple makes a keyboard that has a numeric keypad, but without the useless (for me) Home bit, this is my keyboard of choice.
