I was VERY leery about getting this keyboard based on all the reviews that said it wasnt Leopard compatible. I went to the Apple store today and saw for myself that it was. Cant say enough about it. I just plugged it and it works great with Garage Band. If you are looking for a keyboard for Garage Band, get this one. Great deal. …More

M-Audio Keystation 61es Semi Weighted Keyboard
Excellent!

Wow, this is the best purchase I made besides my ibook. I used a Yamaha keyboard before, but I was not able to use it with Garageband. This keyboard is simply amazing! It does everything I want it to do and more. I recorded two CD's using this keyboard and my ibook.
Simply plug it into the USB port, open Garageband and start playing any instrument that is being available via Garageband. The keys react just like a real instrument, the harder you hit them, the intenser the sound. Love the sensitivy of those keys! Love to play the piano on it. Sounds so impressive, so beautiful!
I use this daily for hours and I've never had any problems with it. Highly recommended to any musician who is look for a keyboard that works with Garageband. …More427 of 506 people found this useful

M-Audio Keystation 61es Semi Weighted Keyboard
It is good
Written by PG from Oakville

I plugged it in. I played lots of instrument sounds. I can change pitch. It has semi-weighted keys and responds like a piano, which makes it better than the 49e. More keys than the 49e is also better because of the range of notes in Garageband instruments such as drums. I can learn piano on it. It makes me happy. I don't have enough time to have a wife and kids and play it. So I just play it and ignore yelling. My playing isn't good, but I ignore that too. …More

perfect for studio use

I needed a good all-around keyboard for flexible use in the studio. The 61es integrates seamlessly with Mainstage and Logic, and because I control all my effects with those programs, I really like the fact that it is just the simple hardware: keys and mod wheels. …More

M-Audio Keystation 61es Semi Weighted Keyboard
good but has drawbacks
Written by SA from St. Albert

i love the fact thats its plug and play, so easy to use and works good with a sustaining pedal but, the keys are not fully weighted and its not a comfortable feeling to play. Also the velocity of the notes often needs adjusting because it is very hard to play, so dynamics lack, or sometimes some notes will be much to loud and need to be dialed down while other can barley be heard. Good product for simple project, but may i suggest just micing a piano if you want realism, mind you it is midi so maybe my standards are too high?? …More

What more could you need!?
Written by AD from Perry

I am extremely happy with this keyboard. Because it runs completely off of whatever software is installed on your computer and not just the presets on the keyboard, your options are unlimited. It is so easy to use and you're ready to work with just the insert of a USB cord. One of the best purchases I've ever made for under 200 bucks. Great product. …More
