Thin, minimal design.
The lightweight, durable Smart Cover protects your iPad mini screen without covering up its durable aluminum back. So your iPad mini still looks and feels like an iPad — just with a little extra protection.
The Smart Cover is made of polyurethane and comes in six great colors. It also features a soft, color-matched microfiber lining that helps keep your display clean.
A hinge magnetically aligns the Smart Cover with iPad mini for a perfect fit, while magnets inside help it stay put.
The Smart Cover does double duty as a keyboard stand. Fold it back to tilt iPad mini into a comfortable writing position.
Wake on open. Sleep on close.
Open the Smart Cover, and iPad mini magically wakes up. Close it, and iPad mini automatically goes to sleep.
FaceTime and movie stand.
The Smart Cover folds in just the right places to become the perfect FaceTime and movie-watching stand.

When folding into a stand this cover seems to be more stable that the previous models. Probably because the iPad air is shorter when in landscape orientation. Of course the wake/sleep function is very convenient.
Highly recommended for those who want to protect the screen without adding much weight. A full case would be the choice for those who are more concerned about damage due to drops. …

Looks great, works as intended

Nice bright red color like other Product (RED) products. Like others have mentioned, the cover seems to be more stable that the previous models when folded. Hinge magnets are very strong but the magnets for the cover when closed could be stronger (at least for mine). You can easily move the cover side to side when closed (hinge doesn't release, just some movement without much effort) which I worry could cause the screen to be unprotected if put into a bag with other things. Otherwise, works as intended. …

It keeps my screen protected, adds some I bought this case for my iPad mini 5 months ago and it's everything I hoped it would be. It keeps my screen protected, adds some colour to the iPad, AND doubles as a stand for typing/movie watching. It's also quite easy to clean. I have the blue version, and my dirty hands tend to leave dark fingerprint marks throughout the week, so I just wipe it with some warm water and it looks new again - very durable. It holds on extremely well to the magnets, but is also easy to pull off when you want to remove it. The automatic lock/unlock feature is great for battery life too! …

The magnetic strip pops off the iPad all the time, so when using it as a stand the iPad will fall over. The cover only folds 3 times and is held into the triangular shape by magnets, as long as you don't touch the iPad the stand works fine, but if you barely touch it everything falls down (which makes using the the iPad functionally impossible). I will be returning it for a different cover. If possible - I would give it zero stars. …

It was almost as if they made it too big? But, surely enough, after about 2 weeks, it seemed to fit fine somehow. I've had no problems with mine after about 2 months, it is holding up great and gets a lot of use. The ability to put it into a stand is perfect for watching videos and even typing. Overall this product does exactly as expected, without any problems. …
