Just an OK Case

At $79 I expected it to be a gorgeous leather and very functional, but it's not. It really does not feel like leather at all, and I just have not been able to prop the iPad up on a table with the case, the way that I expected I could.. I am thinking about returning it for a refund. …

Great case; really adds to the iPad Air

They brought one out from t I decided to get this case after asking an Apple employee if I could see one 'in action' so to speak. They brought one out from the back that had an iPad Air in it. I immediately decided to get it. I have prior experience with the Smart Case for a previous iPad (3) and didn't like it because the lip at the top seemed wide, clunky, and bulky. It could be that the new smaller form factor of the iPad Air allows it's Smart Case to be more pleasing. The top lip is narrow (like the bezel) and you hardly notice it. For my previous iPad I had both the Smart Case and a Smart Cover which I used in combination with a Belkin Snap Shield Secure. The Belkin case is a low profile shell (for the back) that was designed to accept the Smart Cover. I bring this up because it was my intention to use both setups and alternate them but since I disliked the older Smart Case so much I ended up never using it. For this new Smart Case, this is the only case I intend to get as I really like it. It's pricey as leather is the only choice, but if I had gotten the less expensive Smart Cover, I would have gotten an additional shell for the back so there would be extra cost there. I don't mind paying a little extra for a good solution like this. …

Pricy but Good Protection

The case has held up very well and for being I have been using this case on my iPad Air since I purchased it in November of 2013. The case has held up very well and for being soft leather, it has not really shown much wear. I especially like the way it feels to hold it as you really feel like you won't loose your grip. The slim profile really adds complete protection to the iPad without adding much bulk.
I have read some of the negative reviews and I must admit, I would have given this produce 5 stars if it did a better job of standing up when you fold the cover so it will stand up upright for viewing movies. Of course with the lightness of the Air compare to the 4th Generation iPad, it is just as easy to hold sometimes.
All in all, it is not cheap, but it has proven to be a good investment to protect the iPad and it has stood the test of time. …

The price that is offered is not the best value I feel as though it's very substandard . Compared to my old iPad cover the cover has a very nice feel to but the price value isn't worthy it should have been priced at 19.99 instead of 79.00. I'm totally not happy with this cover I'm still shopping for another cover that is functional . …

Other colors for I pad air in leather other than black, ie red?

I owned the brown leather case, but the flaw with it was that it quickly picked up the oils in my hands, and the colour of the case looked strange after about 6 months.
My recommendation is to stick with the black case as it does not show blemishes or wear very easily, unlike all the other options.

No. The iPad Air is thinner than the iPad 2/3/4 due to the smaller bezel on both sides.
