Just an OK Case

At $79 I expected it to be a gorgeous leather and very functional, but it's not. It really does not feel like leather at all, and I just have not been able to prop the iPad up on a table with the case, the way that I expected I could.. I am thinking about returning it for a refund. …

Great case; really adds to the iPad Air

I immediately decided to get it. I have prior experience with the Smart Case for a previous iPad (3) and didn't like it because the lip at the top seemed wide, clunky, and bulky. It could be that the new smaller form factor of the iPad Air allows it's Smart Case to be more pleasing. The top lip is narrow (like the bezel) and you hardly notice it. For my previous iPad I had both the Smart Case and a Smart Cover which I used in combination with a Belkin Snap Shield Secure. The Belkin case is a low profile shell (for the back) that was designed to accept the Smart Cover. I bring this up because it was my intention to use both setups and alternate them but since I disliked the older Smart Case so much I ended up never using it. For this new Smart Case, this is the only case I intend to get as I really like it. It's pricey as leather is the only choice, but if I had gotten the less expensive Smart Cover, I would have gotten an additional shell for the back so there would be extra cost there. I don't mind paying a little extra for a good solution like this. …

smart cover is better
Don't like this very much. The cover doesn't lie properly on the iPad. Also the edges of the cover look beat up and dirty. I like Don't like this very much. after yesterday's DROP!! 5STAR

I te I was skeptical, like others, i didn't want to walk out without protection. I like that it was slick, thin, light weight. I tend to be picky about my covers... but this one has definitely made the CUT. so the leather doesn't look like fine grain, no stitching, but if that allowed for a lighter product, i am all for it! It does have smooth feel and distinct inner 'skin'. Functionality: it fits perfectly. Love the lightly more slender look of the iPad air. It happened to make all the difference for portability in my preferred bag(s)!! Levenger Marley Teardrop multi-zip backpack =) I DID worry about protection. How well would this slim design actually protect it in a fall? THEN IT HAPPENED!!! I dropped my iPad! I was walking regular pace, carrying more things than i could handle, and it slipped out from under!! it fell on concrete!! I could feel my heart shatter, imagining the worst!!! i thank God, that this case was strong enough to tolerate the drop!!!! It didn't even ding!!! it was a great relief!!! So that definitely made me come back for case #2! and worthy of review! …

Pretty but useless

The problem is that you cant really touch it when it is standing up in its vertical position. As soon as I touch it the support collapses and the ipad flops down. So if all you want to do is watch a movie then it will work great. Tapping the screen to start or stop the movie requires one hand to hold the device while you tap with the other. Dont even try to use the home button with one hand.
