Don't give bad review because no audio. VGA has never supported audio.

VGA does not and has never supported audio. It is your fault if you buy this thinking it has the same functionality as HDMI. It does exactly what it's supposed to, display high definition video. That is all. It's like buying a 60hz television and giving it a low rating because it isn't 3D. 5 stars. …

Doesn't not work with protected movies
I bought this so that I could watch purchased TV shows with my iPad 4 connected to my NEC Multimedia projector. It's an older proj I bought this so that I could watch purchased TV shows with my iPad 4 connected to my NEC Multimedia projector. It's an older projector that does not support HDMI. However, despite the description for the VGA adapter that says you can watch movies and shows on TVs and projectors, it does NOT work. When I play the show I purchased from iTunes, I am given a message that says "THE CONNECTED DISPLAY IS NOT AUTHORIZED TO PLAY PROTECTED MOVIES." I get the same error message when I connect my computer monitor to the adapter.
Perhaps the description of this product should be changed to say that you can watch movies and shows on TVs and Projectors--EXCEPT the ones you buy from iTunes? I feel that Apple is sending me the message that I should get my content from torrents rather than buying it from iTunes. Are there Apple-branded projectors or monitors that will support this adapter? What's the point of having a VGA adapter for your device if you cannot watch iTunes content that you purchased?! …

Great but can't play Apple iTunes purchased movies.
Wanted to use this to send the Apple iTunes movies I purchased to a VGA projector, a Dell 2300MP.
The iPhone connects flawless Wanted to use this to send the Apple iTunes movies I purchased to a VGA projector, a Dell 2300MP.
The iPhone connects flawlessly and will show each page of apps and the movies I have made. But when it comes to movies I purchased from Apple iTunes, I get "THE CONNECTED DISPLAY IS NOT AUTHORIZED TO PLAY PROTECTED MOVIES."
Don't know if it is the age of the projector, or the lack of a chip. I did notice that these movies were streaming from the cloud.
It would be nice if they had mentioned that in the description. …

Has anyone used this with slideshark? Can you use notes view and have just the slide view projected, or does it ONLY mirror the ipad?

SlideShark gives you the option to view your PowerPoint presentation (including all graphics and ani SlideShark gives you the option to view your PowerPoint presentation (including all graphics and animations) in full screen or in a notes view where you can see the slide notes, a roll of upcoming slides and a window showing the slide playing through with all the animations (still controlled by clicks/taps), a bit like presenter view on PowerPoint. When you connect your iPad to a second monitor, the second monitor will only ever show the full screen presentation show, but you have the option on the iPad to have a mirror (full screen) or presenter view. You can't see the SlideShark menu on the second screen either, so you can move between different presentations really easily.
For me, it's a superb app and one of the main reasons for getting an iPad. It works really seamlessly, and you can use your iPhone or iPod Touch as a remote too, so you don't even need to hold the iPad. …
