Lets me control my iphone through my car electronics
I bought this to connect my 5 to my car (Benz) electronics so I could control my phone with the car's joystick. Plugged it in and I bought this to connect my 5 to my car (Benz) electronics so I could control my phone with the car's joystick. Plugged it in and it worked perfectly (to my surprise). My car has a 30 pin cable out and this 30 pin to Lightning fit perfectly and is long enough to the two cables together can connect to the phone while in the cup holder.
My only complaint is the price (thus the 4 star rating). Apple should include one of these with every device as we've all made investments in 30 pin cables over the past 7 years. Starting to lose my patience with Apple over this one. …

If you're like me you have at least 4 30 pin white cables; one at the office, one in each car and at least one at home. You buy t If you're like me you have at least 4 30 pin white cables; one at the office, one in each car and at least one at home. You buy this adapter because it works with your phone case Andy you carry it with you. White lightning connector cables are $19 and you can get white 30 pin cables for just a few bucks. You use this connector to use the 30 pin cables you have now. If you have to buy 4 lightning cables that's $80 and you still can't use the 30 pin docks without the adapter. This adapter while over priced at $39.99 it is still less than buying all new sync cables. This is a 5 star product but I only gave it 4 stars because of the price and Apple finding another way to make my wallet a little lighter. Apple you should have included one with the device, most of us would have bought at least one more. …

Works Great, Way over priced
I choose this because the 29$ option without a cord I knew would be incompatible with cases and the like so I paid $10 more to get I choose this because the 29$ option without a cord I knew would be incompatible with cases and the like so I paid $10 more to get something that would actually work. Considering that they are changing this I would have thought they'd include one with the phone.
Enough griping, this cable works great and has even made it easier for me to talk on the phone while it is plugged into my car. The cable I had was a little too short to not have a constant tugging from the coiled cord. Now with the extra 20cm I can talk comfortably. …

Apple - Strategize your social and ethical responsibilities appropriately
I bought the Apple iphone 6 with the $80.00 LifeProof fre case. I wanted to use my Bose speaker system but the stem is too short I bought the Apple iphone 6 with the $80.00 LifeProof fre case. I wanted to use my Bose speaker system but the stem is too short to fit in the iphone unless I remove the case every time I want to use the speakers. I chose to keep the adapter since there is no other solutions that I could find out there. I spent $200.00 on my speaker a little over a year ago and can't justify trashing that. This adapter is way overpriced for the 5 inch stiff cord you receive. Apple, you need to be more inventive when sitting in your board room planning your products and determining how to sustain customer service. Not to mention all the adapters and products that are being thrown in the trash because they are useless. You need to look at your social and ethical responsibilities. …

charger cable stopped working after 1 year
Charger cable is not a good quality, considering the fact the apple products last long (not break within an year). My husband sti Charger cable is not a good quality, considering the fact the apple products last long (not break within an year). My husband still uses iphone 4, and that cable is still good even after 3 years of usage... Apple should improve iPhone 5 charger cable quality. New charger cable costs so high, seriously!!! 40$, thats not fair for customer like me whose previous cable stopped working with in an year, how do i trust or how can i be sure that new cable quality is good enough!!!! Apple should either improve quality or reduce the price. …

Does not fit lifeproof case.
Bought this adapter to use with iPhone 6 and lifeproof case. Plug is too large for case. Apple should change dimensions of plug.

I have tried several 30 pin to Lightning adulators and many, but not all will charge the iPhone 5/5s I have tried several 30 pin to Lightning adulators and many, but not all will charge the iPhone 5/5s, but fewer will charge the iPhone 6/6 Plus. So far none of the Lightning only connectors will allow for Audio to play. For that is seems your need to have a special cable that has both a 3.5 in headphone jack and lightning to 30 pin cable. There are a few of these out there, but it seems that they are not that common. …
