  • Lets me control my iphone through my car electronics

I bought this to connect my 5 to my car (Benz) electronics so I could control my phone with the car's joystick. Plugged it in and I bought this to connect my 5 to my car (Benz) electronics so I could control my phone with the car's joystick. Plugged it in and it worked perfectly (to my surprise). My car has a 30 pin cable out and this 30 pin to Lightning fit perfectly and is long enough to the two cables together can connect to the phone while in the cup holder.

My only complaint is the price (thus the 4 star rating). Apple should include one of these with every device as we've all made investments in 30 pin cables over the past 7 years. Starting to lose my patience with Apple over this one.

You buy this adapter because it works with your phone case Andy you carry it with you. White lightning connector cables are $19 and you can get white 30 pin cables for just a few bucks. You use this connector to use the 30 pin cables you have now. If you have to buy 4 lightning cables that's $80 and you still can't use the 30 pin docks without the adapter. This adapter while over priced at $39.99 it is still less than buying all new sync cables. This is a 5 star product but I only gave it 4 stars because of the price and Apple finding another way to make my wallet a little lighter. Apple you should have included one with the device, most of us would have bought at least one more.

Considering that they are changing this I would have thought they'd include one with the phone.

Enough griping, this cable works great and has even made it easier for me to talk on the phone while it is plugged into my car. The cable I had was a little too short to not have a constant tugging from the coiled cord. Now with the extra 20cm I can talk comfortably.

  • Works with Audi MMI

Bought this to bring my '10 Audi Q5 into the modern era and work with my new iPhone 6, and it works perfectly. $40 is way too much Bought this to bring my '10 Audi Q5 into the modern era and work with my new iPhone 6, and it works perfectly. $40 is way too much for what it is (minus one star), but it's cheaper than the $90 Audi charges for a Lightning MMI cable. I'm able to browse and control all downloaded music on my phone, and also control (play/pause/skip) apps like Songza and Pandora.

When I bought a new iPad Mini2 (64GB) I bought the 30 pin to lightning adapter. It did not work. I plug it in to the iPad Mini 2 and it would give me an error message: "This accessory is not supported by this iPad." Tried it with an IPhone 5, and iPhone 5C with same IOS version and it worked fine. I thought it might be because of the lightning connector in the iPad Mini, but other lightning accessory works fine with the iPad Mini. Go figure. There were no support info from the Apple support web.

  • How stupid is this Apple! This cable stinks!

I Fully expected purchasing this cable and having it FIT my LifeProof case.
Most cables do not fit *except* the accessory cable I Fully expected purchasing this cable and having it FIT my LifeProof case.
Most cables do not fit *except* the accessory cable that comes with the iPhone 6/6+.
I *expected* all Apple Lightning connectors to be *THE SAME*.

    But Noooooo! Not this one.

This cable seems to be just enough larger that it does not fit the LifeProof charge port

    Again....how stupid is this!

No rating except that I *must* give it at least one star to post this.
