Get the cord adaptor instead.
I ordered 2 of these adaptors. BIG PROBLEM: they do not connect to your Iphone 5 if you have a case. (I have the speck case). Si I ordered 2 of these adaptors. BIG PROBLEM: they do not connect to your Iphone 5 if you have a case. (I have the speck case). Since EVERYONE has a case, I am confused as to why Apple would make this product, or not even warn you that it does not plug in when a case is on your phone. The cord adaptor is a bit more expensive, but at least you won't ruin your case by having to continually put it on and off to use the adaptor. …

Will not work if your iPhone 5 has any kind of cover
The length of the lightning adapter is too short if you have any kind of cover with your iPhone 5. I have an Apple-like bumper cov The length of the lightning adapter is too short if you have any kind of cover with your iPhone 5. I have an Apple-like bumper cover (similar to iPhone 4/4S) and the metal contact on the adapter is WAY TOO short. I suggest getting the Lighting to 30-pin Adapter Cable instead. The cable has a thin longer Lightning connection that will work with most iPhone 5 covers. …

Works well with slim covers.
Contrary to the reviews I've seen, I have had no problem using this while having a cover on my iPhone 5. I use this adapter specif Contrary to the reviews I've seen, I have had no problem using this while having a cover on my iPhone 5. I use this adapter specifically so I may keep using my car XM Skydock (love it) with my iPhone 5 that I alternately use both an Elago Slim-Fit Case and Incase Span Case on. I have no problem whatsoever with the adapter fitting snugly.
My only criticism is that I wish the adapter was a bit shorter. …

Incompatible with Apple's own products
I've just spent a ridiculous $100 + taxes on three cables, a lightning to 30 pin adapter at $30, a USB adapter at $30 and a 30 pin I've just spent a ridiculous $100 + taxes on three cables, a lightning to 30 pin adapter at $30, a USB adapter at $30 and a 30 pin HDMI adapter at $40, assuming the combination would allow me to connect an iPhone 5, an ipad 4 and a 30 pin ipad to a variety of peripherals. As soon as you connect two Apple cables together you get an "incompatible" message, which is frankly a disgrace. This means you have to buy multiple, separate cables at huge expense for each device to even stand a chance of getting them to work with the same peripherals. Judging from other posts, even this won't provide full functionality on many of them. Sort it out quickly Apple, the competition are catching up and overtaking fast. …

The ridiculous Apple price aside, it's a perfect product. I just purchased a 7 generation iPod Nano and I have owned a Bose series The ridiculous Apple price aside, it's a perfect product. I just purchased a 7 generation iPod Nano and I have owned a Bose series II sound dock for just over a year. The Bose accommodates a 30 pin, not a lightning. The adapter is tiny and it works well. It also charges my Nano 7 gen while docked. The audio is perfect. I can only speak for the Nano...I don't own/want an iPhone. Also, problems with a bulky case dates back almost a decade so please, enough with the complaints about this product not working with your bulky case. I would give this product 5 stars if the price was closer to $10.00. …

Will not work with the iPhone 5c case
I bought the lighting adapter and the Apple iPhone case (made specifically for the iPhone 5C) for my iPhone 5C. I assumed there wo I bought the lighting adapter and the Apple iPhone case (made specifically for the iPhone 5C) for my iPhone 5C. I assumed there would be no problem, since I bought an Apple product directly from Apple. However, when you put the adapter on your 30pin cable and then plug it into the iPhone 5c with the case on, the connector is not long enough and will not charge the phone. You must take the case off the iPhone for the adapter to fit. This is crazy, so I will be returning the adapters and maybe the case as well. …
