Product Information

  • With the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader, it's easy to download photos and videos from your digital camera to your iPad or iPad mini so you can view them on the gorgeous iPad display and share them with family and friends.

After you insert the SD card into the reader, your iPad automatically opens the Photos app, which lets you choose which photos and videos to import, then organizes them into albums. When you sync iPad or iPad mini to your PC or Mac, the photos and videos on your iPad are added to your computer's photo library.

The Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader supports standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, along with SD and HD video formats, including H.264 and MPEG-4.

Use this with a card to keep X ammount of videos to watch and upload at whim to my mini to watch, also use SD card as a photo library. basically this makes your ipad mini into a much larger platform for getting vids and pics onto it without having your computer at hand to upload new / diff vids or photos from. which is perfect for travel where you want a HUGE GB of vids to upload to watch on your ipad mini.

I bought this for my new iPad mini. You should insert the card in the reader, then insert into iPad. No problem with transfer.

I I recently bought a lightning to SD card reader and had the same problems with reading a sandisk card as most other people here. I put the sandisk 32g card into the reader, put the reader into the iPad Air, turned on the iPad Air and opened the photo app. The app opened and the import sign appeared, but on opening the import sign there were no photos to import. I took the sandisk card and tried it in a PC Card reader, still there were no photos. Wondering whether it was the card (which is brand new) I tried another card in the reader and connected it to my iPad. Success, the card , a Lexar professional worked a treat. I can therefore conclude that the reader works and the card is faulty or the lightning reader just won't read sandisk cards. Or both. Nevertheless, I know the reader works.

I went to the apple store in Paris, asked for an SD card reader for my iPhone. I pulled the iPhone out of my pocket, showed it to them and they sold me this. Which doesn't work. Now I'm hundreds of kms away, can't upload photos off my card for my family. Either make the title more explicit, or fix whatever issue is stopping this from 'just working' the way the rest of the Apple family does. Not good enough Apple. If I read 'lightning' and 'SD Card' am I not entitled to assume that a device with a lightning port could use this to read from an SD card?
