  • Verified to be 3.5 foot long cable - works with existing wall and car plugs

So they I just received my shipment of 3 of these cables directly from China. I measured my cables to be exactly 42 inches long. So they are about 3.5 feet long. About the same as previous Apple charging cables. Really, Apple should make them all 6ft long, which is why I am giving this 4 stars.

Since 3.5 feet is not usually long enough for most uses, search amazon for "white USB extension" from C2G in 3ft, 6ft or 9ft extension cables for about $2 to $5 dollars, which can then be put in between the wall power brick (or car port adapter) and this cable.

Existing power transformers with a USB jack on them (for home or car power port) that worked with your iPhone 3gs, 4 or 4s, should work fine with this new cable and the iPhone 5. 1 amp (1a = 5 watts) is standard for iPhones. 2 amp (2a = 10 watts) is standard for iPads. But it's well known, that if you buy 2 amp (10w) power plug then your iPhone 5 will charge in about 60% of the time. I like the PowerGen brand 10w chargers from amazon for $10.

Yes, they changed the connector. Yes it's kind of a hassle. But that's progress for you & I prefer this cable. No more fumbling in Yes, they changed the connector. Yes it's kind of a hassle. But that's progress for you & I prefer this cable. No more fumbling in the dark - it just slides right in the right way every time. Apple does need to get a few more in the stores though. But love the new cable and love the new design.

  • The cable made for break

I'm really angry today , my usb cable broke again , last night I was suddenly ill and I decided, rather than calling ambulance in I'm really angry today , my usb cable broke again , last night I was suddenly ill and I decided, rather than calling ambulance in this time , I will make an appointment with my gp in early morning,
putted my phone on charge, I found in the morning it's only 2% , tried to call my gp and the phone turn off , when I managed to charge the phone again and it's too late, I had to go emergency.
The cable like new but inside broke , it's luck of quality . It's shame of apple after that long time they couldn't produce a quality charger!
Finally I phoned apple customer care, they are happy to replace. But I'm not happy with it, I said send me a pair of UBS cable one as spare as one break I can use , because you don't know any time it could be break.
Or sell the cable with under £5,,

why apple sell it for £15, it even doesn't worth for £5.
I want to say to apple ,, this cable doesn't cost to made more than £5 pound includes all cost as ready to sell, so why you sell it for £15, people use this cable use to charge iPhones not sumsung phones, make customer happy by supplying accessories with minimum price , this way apple can be more popular. People already paid a lot with main device. What else you want? Touch the sky ! But don't forget you might fall down to ground at any time. Also don't forget the past!

Best advice guys don't trust it, always keep a spare cable ..

I agree with all negative reviews on this p Am on my 4th cable charger although I enjoy my iphone the cable charger is unreliable. I agree with all negative reviews on this product . For such an expensive phone the charger is horrible and am seriously contemplating changing my phone to samsung. Am very disappointed with apple and this product. A $20.00 phone has better quality, long lastng and reliable charger. Apple need to do act fast on this problem so many people are having. At this time am furious @11:30pm with no charger and have to go buy yet another one first thing in the morning this dont make any sense. I hope apple is ashame of this product and should start reimbursing their customers. I had so many other cheaper phone and never had this problem. Shame on you APPLE
