There's not much picture quality variance with a digital HDMI cable, it's either perfect or it's nothing. That being said, I'm very happy with the overall build quality of this cable. Not only is it thinner and more flexible than almost any other HDMI cable I have used, but it also fits into the socket more snugly than most, meaning that it's not likely to slip out if your device is accidentally moved. Plus it looks a lot like Apple's charging cables (i.e. the nicest-looking HDMI cable I've used), not that it makes a big deal when it's plugged into the back of your Apple TV. And for $20, it's fairly similar in price to most 6ft cables so if you care about build quality, you can't really go wrong with this cable. …

Near the top right of your iMac there is a small icon that is in the shape of a rectangle with a solid triangle. You click that and select the option for Apple TV. Make sure your Apple TV is on as well as your tv and it's on. Then you go back to the iMac and click on the Air Play icon, a drop down menu will appear. Click Apple TV and lower in the menu there are two options; "Mirror" and "Extend" if you want your iMac to display whatever you are currently doing on your tv you mirror, if you want to extend your desktop then you click extend.
