    Works great, not bulky

    • Written by from Irvine

So far so good- I've had this hooked up to an external monitor from my MacBook Pro for a week now. It's much less bulky than the Belkin cable also available at the retail store. I'm trying to streamline as much as I can on the desktop, so smaller is better! More

    Nice, Basic HDMI Cable

Probably over-priced, but if you care but aesthetics, it has a clean look and functions well.

    Awesome product.

A perfect HDMI cable for an amazing price. I shopped around for HDMI cables today in my town, and the cheapest one was at Apple. It beat out other stores by $10-$50. I also don't see any difference in the signal from any other HDMI cable. I also like how sleek the cable is compared to other HDMI cables. More

    Great HDMI Cable

    • Written by from Colorado Springs

I recently purchased this HDMI cable for the 720p Apple TV. When I purchased the new 1080p Apple TV I thought I needed a Monster HDMI cable that cost $99. I was wrong. I could see no difference. I returned the Monster HDMI cable the next day. The Apple HDMI cable performs well and the picture is excellent. I would recommend this cable if you decide to purchase the new 1080p Apple TV or any other HDMI device. More

USB is NOT used for this sort of video connection.

There's two ways of doing this. The first is possible only if you have a relatively new MacBook Pro (or iMac) that has a Mini DisplayPort connection for external video. If so, you can use the Kanex Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable available through the Apple Store.

For any type of MacBook, MacBook Pro, or iMac, you can use a combination of:

    1. A video adapter that turns your Mac's external display port into generic DVI. The specific adapter required depends on your Mac, as different models have used different types of connections. For example, if your MacBook has a mini-DVI connector, then you'll need a mini-DVI to DVI adapter. Apple has DVI adapters for almost all of their various models (past and present).

    2. A DVI to HDMI cable, such as the ones from Belkin available here at the Apple Store.

Yes and No. This cable WILL let you watch movies loaded on your iPad on your HDTV through it's HDMI input, but you will also need to purchase the Apple Digital AV Adapter which will provide you with the necessary HDMI output. More
