Simple, elegant design.
Looking at the pictures, I thought this item would be rather bulky--like an iPod adapter brick...but it's not, it's probably the s ize of 4 AA batteries together. A single indicator on top informs of charging status, and getting 6 NiMH batteries is a great deal. 10 year life span according to Apple? Wow. I'll check back in 2020.
I like that Apple has used the same battery compartment style that is in the Magic Mouse (and maybe other products). Two chrome rivets as opposed to springs. Makes for cleaner install and also like the fact that both batteries install the same way.
You can hook directly to a 2-prong Mac cord, or use the flip plug like on other Apple adapters.
I was a little reserved at first, but I'm happy with the $30 that I spent. The batteries look cool, too. :) Although a AAA option would have been a nice touch--but Apple obviously designed this to work with it's wireless accessories - to add a 'green' option to all the batteries that you will be using. …- Written by Daniel B from Limestone

Neat little charger
Neat little charger. Very compact (small enough to fit into a quad outlet with all the other outlets in use!), but has a very su bstantial feel. Great travel size... the AC plug slides out so you can use your charging cord from your Mac or plugs from Apple's Travel Adapter kit if you're traveling outside the US...

Long Lasting
I purchased the charger and batteries 3.5 years ago with my iMac for the keyboard and mouse and have had great results. The iMac h as almost everyday use, and the batteries last 3-4 months. And, when they do die, it only takes a couple hours for a recharge. There has not been any drop in performance and no other complaints that come to mind. I would recommend these for everyone …

Second time around - and it works well
My previous review was highly critical, due to the fact that the battery charger unit did not fit!
However, one call to Apple C ustomer Services, and within 24 hours I had a complete replacement. Sent back the defective unit this morning.

Nice design but poor performance
It's a nice, stylish compact unit, but when it comes to the crunch the experience is not so nice. The batteries that come with the charger are pathetic, lasting a lot less time than other rechargeable batteries, meaning you will be continually changing out the batteries in your mouse.
The charger itself (and I must admit this may be down to the poor quality batteries, I'm not sure of the technical details) does a poor job of charging the batteries, often charging them to an incomplete level. Right out of the box the charger from time to time would give a blinking orange light suggesting the official Apple batteries are incompatible (this is when the batteries are seated correctly).
In short, chances are you already own a battery charger, and you're thinking about getting this to compliment your Apple products. If that's the case, I'd say: don't bother. Stick with another charger. …- Written by Paul S from Granada Hills

No you can't. Some other brands of a similar size will work, eg Sanyo Eneloop 2000mAh work fine. F unny thing though, buying six Eneloop batteries will cost almost the same as buying another charger with six batteries from Apple! …

The Apple Battery Charger comes with the normal Apple One-Year Limited Warranty. If the Apple Batter y Charger malfunctions under warranty, you must set up service. Current service options are:
