Product Information

  • More control at your fingertips.

Magic Trackpad gives you a whole new way to control what’s on your Mac desktop computer. When you perform gestures, you actually interact with what’s on your screen. You feel closer to your content, and moving around feels completely natural. Swiping through pages on screen is just like flipping through pages in a magazine, and inertial scrolling senses the momentum in your fingers as you move up and down a page.

More to touch, more to love.

Your fingers will fall for the Magic Trackpad. It’s made with smooth, wear-resistant glass that feels great to the touch. And it’s nearly 80 percent larger than the built-in trackpad on the MacBook Pro, giving you plenty of room to perform gestures. Because the entire surface of Magic Trackpad is a button, you can click on objects just as you would using a traditional mouse. And Magic Trackpad sits at the same height and angle as the Apple Wireless Keyboard, so you can go from trackpad to keyboard in one seamless motion.

    Bluetooth technology.

Magic Trackpad connects to your Mac via Bluetooth wireless technology. Use it in conjunction with the Apple Wireless Keyboard for a cable-free, uncluttered workspace. And if you feel like venturing away from your desk, Magic Trackpad maintains a reliable and secure connection up to 33 feet away from your Mac.

I use my Mac Mini hooked to a 42" HDTV, so using a mouse from the couch is pretty terrible. Even nice mice like the magic mouse have trouble tracking unless I use a lap desk and mouse pad, which isn't the most comfortable solution. With this, I can surf in comfort and give all of my iMac-using buddies Mac envy!

Besides, with all of the multitouch gestures on the pad, this is the most versatile pointing device Apple makes! Here's hoping they make an iOS-based Apple TV and then make the touchpad a gaming controller too!

This is a great addition to my bluetooth keyboard & compliments my Waycom pad for photo work. I'm not sure if it's really 'worth' the upgrade over the magic mouse, but it is nice to have such a large gesture-based surface, much like the iPad. Props to Apple for thinking outside the box on this one, although the possibility & 'idea' of this technology could have happened a few years ago.

I've had an editing keyboard for some time that is suspended from the desk just above my knees but I had to reach up the the MBP to use the trackpad. This Magic Trackpad is the gadget I've been asking Apple for!

  • This Is The First Review I Have Ever Written . . .

I have ordered many electronic products (from Apple and other companies) for various reasons. However, this is the first review I I have ordered many electronic products (from Apple and other companies) for various reasons. However, this is the first review I have written ever . . . and for -I believe- a very good reason. I am a proud owner of a new MacBook Pro. After continuous use, I became curious of an external mouse as I am not a big fan of the touch pad all laptops come installed with. Therefore, after researching and reading review after review, I purchased and and have been using the Apple Magic Trackpad for several weeks now. This product performs just as advertised and is user-friendly as any other Apple product I have used. It's amazing how I can use my fingers to swipe, pinch, rotate, and manipulate the software on my Mac with such ease. I personally don't know how I would ever go back to any type of traditional-type of external mouse again.

I already have the wireless Apple keyboard to utilize with my MacBook Pro or iPad. However, my next purchase is going to be the bar that connects my wireless keyboard with my Magic Trackpad. I don't own it yet, so I can't honestly say what I think. Nonetheless, I felt strongly enough about this product (Apple Magic Trackpad) to write my very first online review on any kind about it. I just hope it helps to allow other users to make educated decisions about their purchases.

  • I Love it!!

After my mighty mouse's ball got stuck, it made me so mad I accidentally broke it while trying to clean the ball. So I bought thi After my mighty mouse's ball got stuck, it made me so mad I accidentally broke it while trying to clean the ball. So I bought this Trackpad and hope for the best. Needless to say, I will never use a mouse again! Unless, of course, this broke. In which case, I will buy another trackpad!

I was considering between this and the magic mouse (which was good), and after playing around with both at the store, I took a chance on this for its MANY multi-function gestures. There are about 10 gestures that are VERY useful. Simply awesome. Learned most of it within the hour, and I have to say, I feel like I am controlling the computer with my mind. Getting used to it in Final Cut X and not looking back. Makes EVERYTHING SO QUICK. (Yes, I came from the dark age of a wired mouse. Which I will now give to my cat to play with..)

    Things I love:

    -The MANY multi-function gestures.
-Large size of the trackpad surface (I don't like laptops' trackpad sizes, why I was hesitant to buy this at first).
    -Looks.
-How natural it feels to use and SPEED! Because of this, I now feel that I have gained a 6th sense which has given me the ability to control the interwebs with my mind. Today the interwebs, tomorrow, the world. Muhahahah. muhahahahahahahahaa. haa...right.

    Things I don't like:

-At first, tracking seemed kind of laggy; it tend to pause and skipped. So I washed my hands (had a hotdog from Wienerschnitzel) and cleaned the trackpad with alcohol. Tracking is very accurate now.

-Price. It's a great price for what it offers. But I want to pay half and get 50% more.

Overall, I would definitely buy this again. That's not to say I want it to break, so I can buy it again; If that happens, I would bring to Apple and demand a replacement (if after 30 days, I would be really nice to them, hoping they'll give me a replacement :) Stop reading my review, go buy this. You'll love it. I know I do.

Mine - and I know of others - has given up already, after a couple of years of use. Doesn't springback after clicking anymore, so now useless, also loses contact more and more often after a while. Have gone back to a mouse.
