Worth it! excellent quality and looks great.

I bought this knowing that yeah it might be a little thicker then my USB cable but it's not that big of a deal. I personally think it makes the product feel more durable rather than flimsy and fragile. The thickness of the cord it comparable to that of a vacuum cleaner. Like a vacuum cleaner's power cord, it is also tangle free. It came wrapped up in the box for who knows how long and as soon as I strung it out it was straight and flexible. To help with any confusion like I had when I first bought this.

This power adapter comes with the following:

    - 10W power brick (same as the one shipped with your iPad, so yes now you'll have two)

    - 3 foot USB cable (same as the one shipped with your iPad; again, yes you'll have two of those as well)

    - 6 foot wall plug (this is the one that is thicker but also very sturdy)

    - manuals and all that stuff.

Over all, I think this product is perfect to have for anyone that uses their iPad frequently. I don't feel comfortable buying a "USB extender" from a generic retailer not only because it'll look ugly but because it might not charge my iPad, with my luck. I have no regret buying this and I feel like I got my money's worth plus now I have a charger for my office and one for my night stand.

Yes you can charge your iPad through the computer

    • Written by from Houston

Don't believe the other reviewer here. You CAN charge your iPad through your computer. Just make sure that the USB port has enough power to do so. In other words, don't plug it in your keyboard usb plug and then come on here and blast your complaints around :) More

When it comes down to it, a back up power supply is always helpful. This price is very reasonable, so why not? One power supply in a specific location at home, another one that that I take with me for business. More

    Just a little longer!

I love how fast you can charge your device, but just adding a foot to your stock cord does not cut it with me! Please make a 10 foot cord or even 12! I would like the cord that's at least as long as I am. More

    Love the longer cord!

I highly recommend this. It is nice having the longer cord so that you don't have to sit next to an electrical outlet if you want to use the iPad while it's charging. More

Why make it so hard to distinguish from iPod/iPhone charger?

    • Written by from Usquert

Great so I can charge my iPhone4S much faster with this one (5.1V, 2.1A) compared to the iPod/iPhone charger (5V, 1A) but why does it require bright light and magnifying glasses to distinguish between both adapters? More

  • Can an itouch or iphone charger charge the ipad?

I have read some posts of people complaining that the itouch or iPhone chargers will not work for the iPad but this is not necessarily the case. I have been using my itouch charger from day one just to have my iPad cord on hand in case something happens to the itouch cord. It has been working just fine for me. It could potentially take a hair longer to charge since the iPad needs more power than an iPhone or itouch. Also, I have found that my car charger that I had previously for my iPod nano and touch will also work to charge the iPad. Just a thought. Hope this has been helpful. More

Yes, in a roundabout way. There are some limits:
    1. It has to be self powered
    2. It can only sync pictures (no viewing/editing/copying documents)
    3. It CAN sync pics, but only if in a DCIM folder (what a camera creates)
    Hope this helps
