Great!

Just works since the day I took it out of the box. No reboots, no slow service. The device is transparent - exactly what you want from a wireless netwroking device. Delivers great reception throughout the house. I keep this in a enclosed bookshelf, on top of my DVR (not the best location), and it just plugs away. No overheating, no worries. Highly recommended. …More

This is the best wireless router that I have found on the market and have used. I have never had to reset this
, never had any kick offs like with other routers. I have it in my basements, in my office. My wife works upstairs
. She has a mac book pro and I have the 24 IMac, waiting for my new 27 coming today. I have my work PC set up along with a wireless printer and a shared printer as well. …More74 of 80 people found this useful

I have used this router for 8 months. Great replacement coming from linksys routers. Setup was a bit lengthy but after the setup the router hasn't been off since. Airport Extreme truly sets a precedent when coming to consumer routers. …More

The AirPort Extreme has been the easiest router I have every set up. Being used on a pc w/xp home (soon to be a Mac), under 5min. I have used only NetGear brand Routers in the past. It so clean and sleek looking. Very easy to change the settings or set up your network. AirPort Extreme is being used in a home with two pc's, ps3, xbox360, two apple TVs, and a iPhone 3G. …More

Great, great product
Written by JC from Portsmouth

I've a mixed network, imac, macbook pro, pc (XP), laptop pc (XP), couple of iphones, wii, 3 printers and a scanner. Was running a netgear router with a 4 port linksys print server. Special drivers, mixed static and dynamic addressing, frequent crashes, slow internet due to confusion at the firewall, inconsistent printing. My 14 year old became an expert at resetting the boxes to get back on line.
Bought the airport extreme. powered up, it "just worked", and fast. Automatically recognized all products, configured in less than 10 minutes, and it all works great. Plugged a seven port USB expander into the airport usb port and connected all the printers and an external HD. It took a short while to realize that the trick to configuration was to delete all the printers active on all the machines then just let the hardware do it's thing. All devices were correctly recognized and configured.
Only gripe is that getting Bonjour installed on the windows machines too some retries, and this should be done first to ensure that internet access is available for the down loads (I could never get the bonjour stuff loaded from the disk provided by apple, shame on you guys). Once done, configuring the PCs were as easy as the macs.
Expensive box, but given the behavior of the USB port and the ability to connect so many devices via that route, this is a great product worth the price (a separate box to add multiple USB devices to connect to a more conventional router will add $100).
NB Apple: PCs are out there, and often mixed with Macs. Make the PC install work as well at the install on native Apple products and you'll have a winner with broad appeal. …More19 of 20 people found this useful

The Ease of Apple
Written by MC from Pontiac

I just recently purchased the Airport Extreme to work with my new 64GB iPod Touch and new Quad-core iMac (which I am patiently waiting for) and I am currently running with my Dell PC. The setup was very easy (unlike my previous D-Link router, which my iPod touch would not connect to) and the Airport Extreme works like a charm. All I had to do was install the software CD, plug in a few cords and follow the simple onscreen instructions (a few clicks of the mouse) and my new network was all set up. Thanks Apple. …More

Let me get this straight: I can plug my ethernet cable into Airport Extreme and it converts my current internet service to wireless? Or am I way off?
- Asked by CD from Mascotte

Best Answer
The Airport Extreme is a router that takes the internet signal from your ISP's modem and shares it to multiple computers on your network. The Airport Extreme will give each device on your network a unique IP Address. Whether a device is connected to the Airport Extreme's wireless network or using one of the ethernet ports on the back, the devices will all be within the same IP Address range so they can share files, etc.
The USB port on the back of the Airport Extreme can also be used to share a printer or external hard drive to all the computers on the network too.
Hope this helps. …More- Answered by KR from Folsom
