Apple MagSafe Airline Adapter
With the MagSafe Airline Adapter, you'll never again worry about losing power while traveling. Just plug it into your airline seat power port and keep your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air computer powered up for the entire flight.

Now you'll never lose your work or miss the end of a DVD movie because your battery runs out at 35,000 feet. The MagSafe Airline Adapter will keep your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air juiced throughout your flight. Sleek and light, it works with in-seat DC power ports available on many commercial airliners — both EmPower ports and 20mm ports (using the included adapter). Check with your airline regarding availability of in-seat power ports.
Because it's a MagSafe adapter, you'll continue to enjoy MagSafe convenience just as you do at home or work. The magnetic DC plug ensures a tight connection and enables a clean break from the power port if there is undue tension — preventing your MacBook from being pulled off your tray table if someone accidentally trips over the cord.
Important notes:
- Using the MagSafe Airline Adapter provides power for your computer but does not charge the battery.
- The MagSafe Airline Adapter is not compatible with automobile power ports.

Answer
Considering the plug won't fit, no.
However, it might work if you power a MacBook of some kind with this and use the iPad's included USB cable to connect it to the MacBook. That's just me speculating, though. …More- Answered by DP from Goldens Bridge

Can the AirPlane adapter work "off the AC power grid" that is: using a 60 watt (3.6 Amps at 15.4) foldable solar battery charger.

Answer
I would expect this to work. I am purchasing the airplane adaptor for use with a PowerGorilla, which has similar specs to your PowerFilm. It is intended to be used with the included cigarette-lighter style adaptor, but run at 16V. I'm not sure if 19V would fry it or not, but why bother finding out? 16V should work fine. …More
