    $30 dollars? - C'mon...

    • Written by from PORTLAND

Yes, it is small (read: "cool," easy to lose), and it does what it is supposed to do. But do they really have to price this at $30 American dollars when it probably costs 30 pesos to make? More

    OK product, inaccurate description.

    • Written by from Brooklyn

The best thing I can say about it is that it is nice and compact. However the cable provided with it is much too short. Also, would it kill Apple to mention the power specs and requirements of the adapter somewhere on the product page!? I'd go a step further and say it's extremely irresponsible not to. If you look closely at the tiny print on the face of the unit, you'll see that the adapter will work with an input voltage of 100-240 volts. This means you do NOT have to buy a voltage converter to use the charger in foreign countries although you may need an adapter to fit the type of electrical socket used. More

    It works....

    • Written by from Magnolia

the new design is beautiful. it would be cooler if the prongs folded up like previous power adapters, but it is small and compact non-the-less. i give it 3 stars due to the fact that this is $30. that is a little bit over priced, especially since i will have to buy another one to keep in my car so i don't ever forget a charger. i am in need of a charger so badly due to the fact apple's new phone wont charge in my car as for a lot of other charging devices. Reliable unit--at least mine is...

    • Written by from COLUMBUS

I know the quality of these power adapters are a hit-or-miss. I've happened to get one that's a hit for me. I've had mine since the years of iPhone 3GS. I've used my unit for charging and powering any devices that required 5 Watts (5V, 1A) of power. Surprisingly this unit has withstood incidents where I used devices that forced more than 1A of pull. Yet, the fuse in my power adapter didn't go off.

I do agree with many reviewers of this item that for a simple wall power adapter, the price is steep, but that's how Apple keeps its identity as a luxury electronics brand. We complain yet we pay the steep price because psychologically we feel good about buying a luxury brand item--no excuse!

I gave this item four stars because I know you need a bit of luck to get one that's built to last. If the quality of these adapters were consistent and 99% of us got reliable, long lasting units, then this could be a five-star product. Again, no excuse to complain about the price. We are paying for the brand. Do people that buy Gucci bags complain about the price of the bag?

Loud bang, soot marks on USB-side face of adapter

    • Written by from Dallas

It's rated at 100-240V. I plugged two of these into an 230V outlet in my hotel in Paris. One worked fine, the other blew the fuse for the room. More

    An Accessory?

    • Written by from Waianae

My wife just purchased for my birthday the Ipod nano 6th generation. I like it a lot.
But when I asked about the charger/cord/adapter_found that this little item did not
    come with the unit. Seriously?!

If you bought a car, especially with the prestige and reputation it had coming in,
compared to something else, would you leave out the car battery/charger system?
For a recent convert to Apple from the PC, it's like finding out the Pope wears Gucci
while ministering to the groveling peasants, taking in their hard earned cash, and
returning to them the minimal blessing, but then I guess that's business as usual.
