    If you purchase Apple Memory Modules, your AppleCare Protection Plan warranties this RAM. The downside is that you can easily get these 2GB SODIMMS from other reputable vendors for 1/4 the price. More

    You can install it yourself, it is relatively easy to do so. However, if you buy it from Mac you can take it to a Mac store and they will walk you through the process. Or you can buy it from a different vender (usually cheaper too), but the RAM will not be under your warranty with Mac products and they will not help you install them. But luckily there is youtube which will give you a tutorial by simply searching Mac Ram Install, and your model. More

    I was wondering the same thing - If you look carefully under the description on this page it says 2x1GB SO-DIMMS. So it's two 1GB chips. More
