Rechargeable Battery - 13-inch MacBook (White)
Great Product! A must have.

this is a great product if you use it properly. Because it is a lithium polymer battery it needs to be charged fully then drain fully and charged fully etc... to keep it healthy. I get about 4 - 4.5 hours out of this if I i drain it and then charge it (like above). when i first used it like normal i only got about two hours until i realized that you had to do this. This is a great product and if you use it in this way you can even achieve as much as five hours! This is a great product and i would highly recommend it.
note: if you use this technique from the start, the battery heath can increase from what it was when you first get it. …More1633 of 2101 people found this useful

Like you even have a choice

I love seeing 5-star reviews for this thing. Here is the truth: the MacBook battery is big, heavy, and will only get you an additional 2-2.5 hours of battery life under normal usage. Yeah, you need one. No, it is not great. …More

Great

I got this battery because I was going to be going on a 10 hour plane ride. It was very, very nice to be able to keep my computer for almost the whole trip. I have read a lot of people saying that it last for 3 or 4 hours, but here is a tip, turn down the brightness level on the screen to as low as it can go (I can get by on a notch of 1 when there is a light on in the room). When on the lowest level, the battery lasts for around 5 hours, sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more. I would recommend this for someone who uses their MacBook for long periods of time. …More

Worried
Written by CM from Sebring

My battery is now in need of servicing. What does that mean? I now have to worry about a battery for my portable that has never given me 5 hours, despite the claims by Apple and some devoted/lucky customers.
I will eventually have to get a replacement, I suppose, which then means more money spent. I hope that is not the Apple modus operandi, as I would be most disappointed. I agree with earlier comments, Apple does need to look at the quality of its batteries. Maybe that is why they decided to do internal batteries. …More1 of 1 people found this useful

What are you gonna do about it???

It's astonishing how poor the quality on Apples batteries are.
Headed out to the Apple store to get the third one for a Macbook that's two years old. They just stop working after a few hundred charges, which makes them by-far the worst quality batteries I have used as a professional, and the hurdles that Apple makes you jump through to get a replacement are atrocious.
304 Cycles and the battery completely dies. I'm just disgusted by how little care Apple has about this - but they do get to charge you upwards of 15% of the new purchase price of a Macbook just to replace the batt. Makes it worthwhile to just consider buying a new one (or course it won't be a Macbook since the quality is just so bad). …More14 of 16 people found this useful

will the new macbook 7 hour battery work in a three year old macbook?
- Asked by LG from white plains

Best Answer
Two problems:
1) The battery in the new MacBook is not supposed to be removable.
2) It will not fit in the original MacBook.
The "7hr battery" is pretty close in capacity to this battery, it's just that the new MacBook is a lot more energy efficient and that's why you can get up to 7 hours out of it. Even if you could take the battery out of the new MacBook and put it in your old one, you still would not be able to get 7hr of battery life out of it. My guess would be 4 maybe. …More- Answered by AA from RIO LINDA
