My only complaint with the system is I live in an apartment complex on the third floor and sometimes, most of the time, my geofencing doesn't work which mean my lights don't turn on when arriving home. Well with a hand full of groceries and the nearest switch in the kitchen this can be a nuisance. With the tap I place it right inside my front door and when I get home I choose my scene and bam lights are one. I also like using the giant button to turn the lights off at night and when I leave, instead of having to get my phone out. I can't wait to see what Philips does with Homekit in iOS 8 but if you're debating on buying the tap I would say go ahead and do it! Totally worth it and works as expected..... Oh and no AA batteries required!!!!

It can be mounted anywhere or carried around, can be set for 3 scenes in addition to powering all the lights off, and it requires zero batteries to operate. That's right, it runs on the energy it gets from you pushing the button. I put mine in a hallway and set it for an all lights on scene, a night time scene, and a movies scene. I have 6 bulbs split in 2 rooms and I love using the Tap to control them all. I like that I can reprogram it if I change my mind without having to rewire my apartment. By the way the mounting is easy, it has 2 stickies on the back, just peel them off and stick it to the wall. I'm writing this review after using it for a little while, I'll update this if things change but right now it has earned 5 stars from me.

Hard to believe that anyone tested this and thought to themselves, "This works great."

Most of the time using buttons 2, 3 or 4 Hard to believe that anyone tested this and thought to themselves, "This works great."

Most of the time using buttons 2, 3 or 4 simply activates button 1. And button 1 is default set to turn all lights off.

How can it be so hard to design a switch where when you push button 3, it activates button 3?

Seriously, this is a mechanical design. Clearly from all the terrible reviews this thing is seriously flawed. For $60.00 bucks you get a hockey puck piece of junk that doesn't do what it is supposed to do. Just make it battery powered and make it something that works. It's 4 buttons. Not that hard.

Looks like the phone or iPad will always have to be used to control the lights. That's a bummer.

What I would change: you have to push a little harder than desired to activate the switch; if you don't hit it just right, you may need to push it again.

Given that the switch is self-powered—pushing the button generates the electricity that powers the switch—it may not be possible to design it so you don't have to push quite as hard. But it's on my wish list.

Overall, thrilled to have the switches. They've made a big difference in our house.
