Product Information

  • Overview

The Kensington International Travel Adapter delivers the convenience of built-in plug adapters for nearly any country along with two USB ports for charging your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. Plug in your iPad and it delivers a full 2.1-amp charge to that USB port. Or if you need to charge two iPhones quickly and safely at the same time, the adapter splits the power between the ports. Plus, with the two-pole adapter you can charge any MacBook.

    Easy plug selection

To choose the correct prong configuration for a particular country, simply push the integrated plug-release button and slide out the appropriate prong for your wall outlet. When you're done charging, push the plug release button again to stow the plug.

    A discreet travel companion

The low-profile design fits neatly in your luggage, and because the plugs are built-in, there's no chance of leaving one behind. For safety and peace of mind, an internal fuse helps prevent a power surge to your device.

The USB ports didn't work in either country, and one actually broke off in my camera's USB plug the first day I got there. Thankfully there was an adapter for a US plug that did work, but the adapter is so heavy you have to make sure it is balanced in the wall just so or else your electronics won't charge. Plus, with the USB ports inoperable, this left me charging one thing at a time - usually one overnight and praying the other would get enough juice in the morning before I left my hotel. My advice, go to an Apple store whenever you get to your international destination and buy their adapter plug for the iPhone. You can plug any USB electronic into it and you know it will work.

Bought this several weeks before a trip overseas. The USB charge ports worked but electric plug did not work. Tried it when I got back to the USA and it didn't work here either. I did not use the USB ports but did charge three different devices including an iPad mini with it and all worked well . Yes sometimes there is a balance issue off the wall but one can just support the operation with books or magazines. FYI, often if not always, the outlets in these two countries just need a smaller, individual plugin unit just to adjust to the type of prongs. But to be certain, bring the adapter.
