Good Case, But Not Perfect

So far I like it. It looks very nice but there's a few things that I don't like:
• Opening Control Center takes a few tries because the front faceplate gets in the way.
• The Mute Switch doesn't easily toggle on and off.
• The 5S fingerprint sensor takes awhile to get used to with the faceplate.
These issues are minor and just take awhile to get used to. Hopefully I won't have issues with this case like some people had with the Lifeproof 4S case. …

Great underwater video

I have to say, the videos from my iPhone 5s we Just bought this before a Christmas beach trip knowing the reputation of LifeProof. I have to say, the videos from my iPhone 5s were better than what I was seeing through a snorkeling mask. Absolutely amazing case and gives me a lot of confidence. They recommend programming touch before, but I would recommend redoing after in the case because of the spacing.
If using while snorkeling you must get into camera or video before going under as screens don't work in water, but buttons do. Also, keep the phone in motion so the screen doesn't shut off or you will have to float and try to unlock, etc.
Highly recommend, even though it is $90. …

I bought the phone and case at the Apple store and the salesman was happy to help me put it together. I like that it also came with an optional screen protector that does not interfere with the functionality of the case.
My 2 complaints/concerns: First, the speaker function sounds just the slightest bit muffled to the person on the other end--but I was told I could still be understood fine, just a little muffled compared to my naked phone. Second, the touch print is a little hard to set-up with the raised faceplate that partially obstructs the button. (I assume they must have had some reason this had to be obstructed in this way--its a little annoying). My recommendation would be to set up the phone and the touch ID before you put the phone in the case. I found that because of the shape of the recess in the cover I tend to put my thumb on the button sideways--so make sure you set up your fingerprint in whatever orientation you prefer for normal operation. I had to delete and re-set to get it to read properly every time--but it works great now. I haven't tested out the waterproof-ness yet, but it looks just as waterproof as previous versions of the case. There is a thin film over the touch button, so water can't get in there either. Overall, great case! …

The cases are not created equally, and not WATERPROOF!
Dear Lifeproof and Apple,
I am so distraught over the destruction of my iPhone 5S. Your cases are not waterproof. After my second Dear Lifeproof and Apple,
I am so distraught over the destruction of my iPhone 5S. Your cases are not waterproof. After my second purchase, Lifeproof Nuud, I took my phone in water at the pool with my family and after minutes, I watched the phone screen display lines, colors, and finally black out. I took my phone out to the pool with full confidence, because previously, I took my original Lifeproof case to the beach, and the case fully protected my phone. This was unfortunately not the case. I run my physical and online retail store from my phone. My customers count on my responsiveness. This incident happened just 24 hours before I had to travel to the west coast for our annual tradeshow and I was displaced without my iPhone. This inconvenience has cause me to abhor your company. I have told every person whom I've come in contact at the airport, my hotels, during the tradeshow, and on social media about my poor customer service experience with your representatives, about the fact that you have not responded swiftly nor promptly to my TWP warranty damage claim, and simply how your products do not work.
I am distraught over the destruction of my phone. It was quite an expensive investment for me, and when I made the decision to invest in an expensive case and warranty plan, I believed I was protecting my investment. I decided to finally speak out against Lifeproof again, because tonight, as I stay up late to add inventory to my retail website, I'm met with incredible difficulty because I do not have access to my iPhone camera, editing, posting apps as I should have access to had your product performed as promised. The damages are irreparable and the loss to my business is irreplaceable. The least you can do is have a talk with your claims department about streamlining their processes. Anyone filing out a claim is clearly displaced, therefore all claims deserve prompt attention. And as your representatives said, "Lifeproof bares no responsibility to the loss of your phone."
I hate your company and the products it sells, and the situation I am in. …
